What should I expect to pay for sandblasting the frame on my RZ350? Is sandblasting too aggressive, it's gone rusty where the mices have pissed on it. I will get it painted with 2 pot I think but I did paint up an old TS185 about 15 years ago just using a spray can and it is now in better nick than the Yamaha, both been stored in the same place with the same mouse problems....

After sand blasting you will need to undercoat properly to get rid of the abrasive sand blasting surface if you are planning to paint. But if you get the frame powder coated then there is no undercoating, no sanding, no nothing. As long as you dont leave the frame to rust.

up an old gb250 once got the frame soda blasted perfect basically left bare metal but was smooth as a babys but but would advise, even a light undercoat before painting cost about 150 but the paintjob looked mint and yes i too used spray cans its all in the prep work

I ended up using 2 pots of paint stripper, wire brushes, hot air gun and emery tape. It took about 20 hours ... I wish I got it blasted..... now I just have the front instrument bracket, footpeg brackets etc to go. What fun...:argh:
