View Full Version : Strange phenomena in Auckland

I noticed a weird substance that slowly spread over Auckland city today. It seemed almost like liquid gold but much lighter and managed to penetrate glass.
It was odd, it jumped between shiny surfaces and spread across the ground. People were in awe all along K'Rd, a few even had to put on shades to get a better look.
I asked a shocked passerby what he thought of all this and he remembered an ancient urban legend about this phenomenon, I think he called it the s..arn? The sun? Sunny? Something like that.
It was a glorious experience! People seemed to be much happier, there were more people out doing things, enjoying themselves. I actually heard laughter, saw smiles and joking around. A very relaxed, care-free attitude about. All because of this strange substance...
Did anyone make good use of the roads today? I slept through most of it and am regretting it. Hangovers do that.

Yeah it was strange. Usually good weather is gone by mid morning if it arrives at all.

I remember 1999 in Glasgow being so bleak that there were only 2 days of sunshine recorded. I wish I was joking.

Yes, we had that bright golden stuff here in Central otago today as well. But sadly, I didn't use it to go riding, instead I spent all afternoon cleaning, polishing, oiling etc. generally getting the bike ready for some real riding. :scooter:

For the record, we had another stunning day today...perhaps the tables are turning! There's officially only a week left of Winter but we all saw how bad last "summer" was.

I've lived in New Plymouth, there's no way it's as tropical as you're making out.

Yeah, the locals here didn't know what to do with themselves. Like lost kids in a candy factory.
Sad really.
