Start with the battery (again) before you do anything else. Did you charge up the new battery? I would check the new battery with a multi meter to see if it is fully charged in case you bought a duff one. Did you get the battery from a shop or elsewhere?

Sounds like your "new" starter motor is stuffed. Had a similiar problem on my bike.
Try push starting it if you can, but otherwise you'll probably have to replace the starter motor. Could also be the brushes inside the starter motor needing attention.

If your battery is fine and checks out ok then I agree with Wildpudding, go looking there next.

I have had that problem and I found that when I tapped the solinoid for the starter it would work. Replaced the solinoid and end of problem..... you can usally find the solinoid by finding where it is clicking when you hit the starter button.

hey all ...can i test my starter motor b4 taken it out of the bike..dont have a multi meter so can i just connect wire straight to battery ..by passing the ignition...i only have one wire coming out of where starter motor is so im guessing thats the positive and the starter motor is earthed to the bike itself????cheers

removed starter last nite...put a lead on the positive wire to starter and lead earthed on starter casing and connected to my bike battery...no go ..but is it ok to test on a good working car battery just to make sure battery is 100% not the probelm.....cheers

Yep, the starter motor just wants 12v - it won't mind if you use a car battery. Take starter motor to an auto electrician, it may be inexpensive to have it sorted.
