Great learners bike, which still has enough power for the open road (or the track).
Sporty good looks for a reasonable price (compared to many 250's)
First road registered in early 2005. I've owned it since the start of 2006.
It has a separate oil tank - no need for premixing.
Kick start only. Being so small it's pretty easy to kick start.
Comes with two sets of fairings - the 'race' set (currently fitted to bike) has some scratches, new set has hardly been used.
I've always run it on fully synthetic oil (TTS).
New tyres (Pirelli MT 75) fitted in May.
Edit: New photos added

I can vouch for this being a great bike to start out on! I was the previous owner. Had lots of fun on it and was always run on top oils.

Best of luck with the sale! :-)

What are ya moving onto next?

Man I want this bike! Any rebuilds etc? I know that my 2001 KR had done over 45000 k's when I sold it and it definately didnt need a rebuild....

Had a new piston and barrel at 12000 k's - looks as though it had been running without enough oil at some stage :pinch:. The new engine is running sweet, and I've been keeping an eye on the oil usage to keep it that way.
My mechanic is happy to answer any questions about the mechanical side of things. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll give you his details.

If you're unable to get it, might let my girlfriend know about it. Bit far away but it seems like a nice bike

Very nice bike I might add.

Used to own one. Raced it and rode it on the road for 30,000kms. Best road bike I ever ridden IMO

Oh, and mine never had a mechanical fault the entire time i owned it!

Thanks! My untie who handles our insurance said it could be as soon as next week!. Its only a small claim compared to the other vechiles what we have insured. So hopefully the insurance company will make it quick to keep our business. Considering we have never had a theft. :soon::woohoo::headbang:

Sure Cant see why you cant have a blast or two. Just put the scatched up fairings on it ;). Hehe just kidding. :Playnice:

Lets see what happens :).

If i buy it ill also buy a top end rebuild kit of trademe for it as well. For later use. I can see me doing alot of km's. :sweatdrop.

Rosie... whats it like on fuel... My DT was turning out to be pretty shocking on petrol :(.
Any problems? (I know its been in a rear end accident before im not too fussed)
And how big's the tank

Rosie
4th October 2007, 15:12
It's got a 9 litre tank. I get to reserve (around 8 litres) at about 160 k's. I'm a bit of a nana though, it would use more fuel if you thrashed it.

Problems? Hmm.. Everything that was damaged in the rear-end was replaced (broken brake levers and scratched fairings mostly). Most of the bits weren't too damaged, so I bought them back off the insurance company - thus the two sets of fairings.

The top gear indicator light doesn't go. Cruising at moderately legal speeds you don't really need 6th gear anyway. I've never looked to see what the problem with it was, so it may be easy to fix.

The new fairings were only on the bike for a couple of weeks, but there are a couple of small scratches on the lower left hand side. I can get photos if you'd like.

The speedo is scarily optimistic. It reads 140 when you are doing 110-ish, but you get used to that.

The outer 15mm of the tyres are as good as new. As are the footpeg feelers :o

Sounds like my DT basically for fuel consumption.

Ill have a look around and a ponder.

Thanks rosie :apint::cool::banana:

Gah. Don't let AJ near it...Unless it has the extra bracing and structural modifications recommended in the "We ate all the pies" racing team manual.

Wow, Thats nothing on the amount of Kms to a tank I used to get on mine! I think I was getting almost 300kms to a tank when I was commuting, But thrashing over the hill it went down to about 150.

Never the less, It's great bike kyle!! And look it has spare fairings for a track/race meet ;)

A friend-of-Clint's-friend bought it. They basically sorted it all out while I was overseas, which made life easy for me.

Low cc doesn't always mean slow.
Do some research, read books. a KRR150 can be a good learner bike but not to everyone.
Figure out what you wan't to do with the bike and buy one suited to your intended purpose.

I bought it privately, when it was about a year old. Kawasaki stopped importing them in 2003. Not many of them were brought into the country so you don't see them for sale very often.
