Bull, Bullitt, Cave Cleaner, Karmakillernz, Russellwhitlock, and I met at the Duckpond for the sunset ride.

First stop Rushes Cafe, be careful of the gravel parking lot - no drops but. Cave Cleaner, Russellw, and I, decided to stop for coffee while the other three were going to do a circuit of the inlet. By the time coffee arrived they had returned - apparently they turned around part way round, however one remark was 'they took a short cut and rode across the inlet'.

Good riding time saw us at the top of the hill 10 minutes before sunset, and some pictures taken. Cave Cleaner and Karmakillernz from Kapiti lead us back down to the inlet and around Grey Road down SH2 to the Sand Bar at Mana.

Russellw was quickly on the job taking out and checking the tail/brake light bulb in Bull's Hyosung, and they walked across to the Shell service station and returned with new bulb. All fixed and sorted. Bull handed me back the high vis orange vest that I offered him. Oh the pain of having to wear it would have been too much and I am sure Bull is forever in Russellw's debt saving him from such a moment 'riding BB#1's high vis' Shhhh.

A good evening out and I look forward to the later evenings and more rides to come through spring and summer.

Here are some pics.

Heads Up and Enjoy

Was another good ride, cheers to everyone who came along.

It seemed black bikes were the thing to have with all except Russell and I on them.

Thats the most night riding ive done in non street light areas too which was good.

I led the ride back over the Haywards, with the other two bikes that were going that way following, and I must admit that it is the first time I've ever had the opportunity to use my high beam on ol' Backfirin' Betty.

It was a great night. Thanks to Guy for he Photo's too.
Yes that stretch of road does get a wee bit dark after sunset, but on the "bright " side, you can tell if someones coming the other way around those bends by the headlight beams.
Looking forward to another.

Nana is a bit rough matey, my Hyosung was doing its bloody best to haul my 126kg up the hill past the cages.

I was full throttle flat out - yet still was passed by the Power Ranger on the RF. hehehe.
