I see the investigation into Police Group Think was spun by Greg O'Connor as some kind of vindication for the way cops act.
That one just goes to show what a bullshitter O'Connor (and his sycophants) are.
The report was scathing of Police investigating Police and particularly noted more than a hundred accusations of sexual abuse against Police that were NOT investigated by Police.
Now that reminds me of Patricks whine about only 4 cases ever being bought against the cops or some other bullshit.
Of course there's only been a few cases: cops look after cops regardless of the facts of the accusations.

Fortunately I wont see his reply to my post.
Run away, the bogie man's here.......rotflmfao!
Sure, I'll play devils advocate. Debate is healthy and countering bullshit is what I enjoy the most. There's PLENTY of bullshit coming from the cops here; you only have to look at how similar it all is to see it's PR Spin and they're just 5regurgitating O'Connors crapola.
Of course the fact that I'm happy to play devils advocate doesn't mean any of my arguments are unsound but I wouldn't expect mom to let facts cloud his opinions with reason.
HOWEVER: On this thread, I stand by every post I've made as I do on the political one. The devils advocate posts are on less serious threads.

Patrick and Scumdog aped O'Connors bullshit spin is that cops have only been bad guys 4 times or some such crap. Of course that's because cops investigate cops and cover up for each other. On the other hand, the actual number of complaints covered up is far far larger and even though O'Connor tries to whitewash it, the investigation finds hundreds of complaints that should have been investigated by an impartial agency.
So too bad for them, the report by Dame Margaret Beazley slammed them for their groupthink and their coverup of so much complaint:
From scoop.co.nz:
DISGRACEFUL: Commissioner Dame Margaret Bazley's long awaited Commission of Inquiry into police conduct has been released and uncovered hundreds of sex complaints against officers. The inquiry discovered 313 complaints of sexual assault against 222 police officers between 1979 and 2005.

This is Greg O'Connors Spin bullshit on the Commission of Inquiry (you can see the number 4 that O'Connors mouthpiece here likes to quote and just what a pile of garbage that actually is):
When Dame Margaret Bazley released her report on police conduct just five months ago she expressed real doubts about whether the force could sustain the necessary impetus to change its culture. Judging by the defensive speech from Police Association president Greg O'Connor this week she was right to be concerned.
"Lay off the police" was the nub of his message when he opened the association's annual conference, arguing that they were being criticised too much and too unfairly and that this was harming their effectiveness.
"In the past, criticisms that we knew had no real substance would have been shrugged off. Now no one wants to do that 'just in case'," he said. "We're too quick to put police on trial time after time, 'just to be on the safe side,' and all the while oblivious of the damage we're doing."
To blame were the usual suspects - media, politicians and an ill-informed public.
he went on to make a few absurd statements of his own that suggest he is in a state of denial over some of the real problems identified by police critics. For instance, he characterised Dame Margaret's report as being "as close to a clean bill of health as you can get".
He said the commission of inquiry had looked at 25 years of police history and re-examined 400 cases but come up with only four in which proper investigation did not take place.
This came from reading the actual report and he blamed media reporting for creating a contrary impression. Yet he ignored the report's findings that there were 141 sexual assault complaints with sufficient evidence to lay criminal charges or take disciplinary action.
This is hardly the clean bill of health that Mr O'Connor claims and if the point must be emphasised you need only refer to Dame Margaret's 60 recommendations to change the police culture, including annual audits to make sure that a state of denial is not allowed to prevail.

Nope, unlike you I'm happy to offer the actual words of O'Connor and also the actual report by Dame Margaret Beazley.
It's interesting to hear you ape the O'Connor BULLSHIT about "only 4 cases" even though the report makes it quite clear that at least 150 sexual complaints were serious enough to have been investigated but weren't. Sexual complaints against cops is just one facet of course, there's much more and the smell of bullshit from O'Connor and his sycophants is almost overpowering.

You however can do something decisive for a change: you could make an unequivocal statement either supporting O'Connors spin as aped by Patrick or you could support the Commission of Enquiry and the fact that it exposes serious problems in police conduct that need to be resolved but probably won't be because of Cop group think.

Regardless, I'll carry on believing in what I see, if it gels with what the Commission of Enquiry comes up with ? - well and good.

I could post all manner of 'valuable info' on KB about the best load for using 165grn Lapua projectiles in a 308 or the advantages of advancing your cam timing 4 degrees on a 460 ford - they might not be on topic but hey, they will probably get as much response and feed-back as your valuable info is getting eh?
Is there a prerequisite that post on KB has to be intelligent? and by whose judgement? is it mandatory to reply to statements/comments? and if it is so you always have to agree to them? and does desk-thumping arm-waving make a post intelligent? and correct?
And why should I care - nobody else does.

It seems I really hit the nerve yesterday. The Dame Margaret Beazley inquiry into police conduct slams police mentality and behaviour and both patrick and scumdog are doing everything BUT address that damning report (whitewashed of course by Greg O'Connor propaganda as parroted by patrick).
The report investigates more than just the hundreds of sexual misconduct accusations against police that should have been investigated but were not because cops investigate cops; it also examines cop actions in general and the mentality of the police in NZ.
I understand of course why the cops here are afraid to discuss it; they have no defence except to ape O'Connors propaganda and even they are smart enough to know that such regurgitation would be as transparent as air.
Cuttingly and borne out by subsequent events, the report casts doubt on the police force's willingness to address their group think and the issues the report raises. Yes, the head of police made a grand speech when the report was released but as noted by the media, that's about all the action taken.
Hmmm, given that the cops refuse to address it and watching them avoid at all costs, it seems worthwhile to start posting extracts from the report for discussion.

You're so holy you should be a priest.
Oh no, hang on, you're a cop, that's way holier.
I think I'll leave holy' out of my resume', it sounds painful.

Possibly the mods have finally realised that anything cops say is b/s and doesn't even deserve to be in pd.
Brill.
Your posts went down to 600 something, ya BS artist. They should have a special formula that works in reverse for the majority of the crap you post.

Sounds to me like every one was on drugs.. either that or it was a Quentin Tarantino film..??
There were a total of twenty witnesses who saw or heard the confrontation between Mr Bellingham and the Officer.
Many of the witnesses indicated that Mr Bellingham was holding a hammer in an aggressive manner, either single-handedly or with both and walking toward the Officer.
A small number of witnesses indicated that Mr Bellingham did not have the hammer raised in an aggressive fashion and others did not see Mr Bellingham holding a hammer or advancing on the officer but did hear the shots and saw the aftermath.

I'm somewhat surprised this thread is still alive! Or is it a means to get everyone's post counts back up again...?

It's in R&R. Posts here contribute not a jot to people's post counts. Knock yourselves out!
