It may be legitimate rape, but I suspect that it could also be cover-up for an affair which will have massive implications obviously for the chap arrested.

Interesting to see what everyones initial impression is on the article.

My initial impression was absolutely that the poor boarder is getting figuratively shafted after giving the landlord's missus a more literal seeing to on request!

When the woman's 34-year-old husband walked into the room a short while afterwards, she was surprised to see him in his work clothes, and only realised her error when he questioned her about a man he had seen walking out of the room, the paper said.

Police have arrested the couple's friend, a 29-year-old labourer who has been staying with them for the past couple of months, and are investigating the case as a rape.

I remember something similar years ago in Rotorua...a 'person i knew' went to a party and scored with a female, they went to her room (party was her parents house, parents were away) and her older sister walked in on them. All hell broke loose cos this female was 15/16 yrs old and Derek was in his late 30's. They laid a rape charge against him fearing the Parents would find out, he appeared in court and she turned up in her School uniform and pigtails, Derek was gobsmacked cos she looked her age...then! at the party she was all leathered up, drinking and up for the root...funny how things work out...
