OK, I have had a set of bad luck with regards to my health. For the final round of Vic Club races, I was sick, for R2 of AMCC at Pukie, I had the flu.
Now a really fun weekend is coming up with Pukie and Manfield track days and my flu returns!! FAARRRRKK!!! :crybaby:
What do you reckon is the quickest remedy that'll get me up and running by Saturday morning? :puke:

I'll be there giving it all I got no matter what and you won't hear any excuses from me.
On a serious note, how do you get rid of this flu QUICKLY? Anyone know any miracle cures that work??

Drink heaps of fluids, including stuff with electrolyte replacements (potassium and sodium) You can get Berocca type stuff from Pak and Save really cheap. Eat apples and bananas. Blow your nose as often as you can (use aloe vera tissues) - AND GOT TO BED AND REST. now.
There's no miracle cure except rest so your body has heaps of energy to kill the virus.

Alcohol and a double dose of hepatotoxic analgesics.
Well, it'd certainly do *something*.

The sleep's probably the trick. If the painkillers keep you knocked out, it'll give the body a better chance of sorting the bugs.
But hell, six hours a good sleep? I'm utterly stuffed if I'm restricted to less than 8 with any regularity. Back in t'day, when I was training and wotnot, I slept 10 every night without fail, and noticed it bigtime if I missed out.

If we're going to make engine/metabolism comparisons, I'd probably be a single-cylinder marine diesel.

hepatotoxic analgesics.
Not to be confused with quadmorphic anthelmintics (although these may help too!)

Best way to deal with the 'flu? Go out on the piss really HARD until 4am. Wake up with a huge hang over and compared to the flu you'll wonder what you were complaing about, next day, you'll feel heaps better.

Buy some "Clements Tonic" from your local Food Town or chemist.
Read the bloody label and follow the directions.
This stuff really works but tastes terrible(that's cause it's good for you)
Mix it with orange juice to make it easier to take.

Chicken, pool, beer, corgis - I think it's more that we all rode in the rain for how ever many hours on Sat!
PS: BadL - I'm getting a little concerned now.
MR: If your throat is yuck, sucking on a teaspoon of honey every few hours usually helps. Doesn't wake you up though, but makes your throat not sore.

...Anyone know how to get a lungful of coffee out of a keyboard..?
Okay; here's my worthless advice.
Sleep. Drink. Sweat.
Make very, very strong onion soup (or get someone else to) with turmeric and cayenne and heaps of garlic.
Also, drink a (hot) mixture of lemon, honey (manuka sounds good!) cayenne.... I've heard maple syrup's supposed to be good, too- but stick with the honey, I guess. Be careful with off-the-shelf remedies, as a lot of them contain caffeine and will stop you getting a proper sleep.
As everyone here says, though- most important thing is to drink heaps and to sleep. But don't drink stupid stuff like coke (sugar to feed the bugs, caffeine to keep you awake...)
If you're still feeling crap, Mr. B.L., then get thee hence and do all of the above double!

...Anyone know how to get a lungful of coffee out of a keyboard..?
Unplug it, pull it apart, remove the circuit board bit that the lead connects to, rinse the other stuff out, dry it out and put it back together, and if you're lucky it'll still work. Don't use a hair dryer to dry it out, it may melt it...
Or you could just get a cheap new one for $13.50

I have a sick, sick mind.
Liquorice out your nose builds up quite some velocity as it is forced through your sinuses. Hence damage and splashback.
