My pussy, Doodles has come home covered in patches of oil. How the heck do you get these out? She is mostly white so it looks horrible and im not sure its safe for her to be licking it?!

Same as a cum stain I guess, never see one last before.

.... imagaine that ! - a pussy that licks itself!

If you want to clean your pussy, I suggest eucaliptus oil for the furry part but dont get it on the sensitive bits. for this reason you should also try to not get it on your doodle. as it could burn a little

A friendly Vet might give ya pussy the once over, (or twice/thrice over if need be).
But nobody wants to see anyone with a swollen tongue.:devil2:

Just to clear up any confusion.... YES im talking about my pet cat! Wish she got the bloody stains working on the A! Is eucalyptus safe for her?

Same way you cure fleas and crabs, shave it.

Im not seeing Doodles taking kindly to me shaving her! :(

Try a bit of hand cleaner or something like that but the hard part is rinsing it off, cats just hate the water bit so get your fellah to hold her when you do it so he is the one that gets scratched.

I wouldn't put something as harsh on it, I did talk to the vet about tea tree oil at one stage, got warned against it as your likely to burn their skin. So I'm sure it would be very similar.

Call a vet and ask what is safe. I'd say just snip the fur, it will grow back in no time.

Yep that is exactly why I said it! dont use BAM ! or 30 seconds !!!!

So maybe not shave it, just give it a tidy up.

Hmm, that could be a plan.... Unfortunately theres quite a few patches on her and she is more ADHD than me so getting her to stay still might be a prob!

I can just imagine the SPCA trying to take her of me for "abusing" her or something if it looks real bad!

LOL my cat is pretty much bald all around his neck.. Have to cut knots out (he does get brushed but sometimes thats just not enough) The knots bunch up and go real tight to the point it will slowly pull the fur out from his skin.. In turn he ends up with bald patches.. Usually happens coming up to summer..

Dishwashing liquid might help.. But you also run the risk of washing it in more.. Anything you do use make sure you rinse it REAL well eh.. Could easily make things worse..

maybe try a cat friendly shampoo first?? not sure it'd work on oil, but it's worth a shot to try and break it down..

does kitty take kindly to baths? or is she an anti-bath kitty?

chuck her in the bath & give her a good clean with warm soapy water, make sure you have the bathroom door closed & your bike gloves on, leathers are optional

the thing that has solved knots in the past for me is taking it to a groomer who shaved the whole cat (except the head and tail) which looked weird for a while, but when the fur grew back it didnt knot as much as it used to for some reason for pretty much the rest of his life!! it was weird...

oh, another thing to help knots while brushing and without having to d a huge snip, there are groomers tool which you can get that have blade type things on them which you hook into the knots and cut them out as you brush...

I dunno, it could be an idea to get one if you havnt got one already.

Cheers for the suggestions people! Just one thing, shes a DSH, will it hurt her if I cut to close to her skin?

You're going about it the wrong way. Die your pussy to match the patch.

We've talked about getting on seen as mum has a cat the same as mine, he has started to get the same problem. Its what you get with long haired cats. :shifty:

Heh! :)

Or I could just cover her completely in oil! I have fully synthetic oil so she'll smell great! :D

Be very gentle, if you cut her accidently she'll prolly never let you do it again. Cut as close as possible without running to much risk of cutting her skin. If theres anything left don't be too concerned so long as most of its gone. As it grows out you can deal with it then.

yeah, long-haired cats are a bitch lol... that's why I stick to the hairless or DSH (black and white ofcourse) lolz...

though I guess you sign up for the grooming when you get a long-haired pussy... heh...

1: Cover cat liberally with shampoo.
2: Put cat in toilet.
3: Close seat and lid.
4: Sit on lid.
5: Flush toilet.
6: Ignore any strange noises (it means the cat is enjoying it).
7: If in doubt, repeat steps #5 & 6.

This procedure was reccommended to me by a dog and we all know that cats and dogs love each other.

IIRC - we had the same problem with one of our cats (white also) - I think we just used some Palmolive dish wash soap, and warm water to wash off the oily bits. The cat will still look a bit mottled, but it'll get the worst off.
The suggestion of bathroom, door shut, and leather gloves is quite a good one too - depends on how relaxed your cat is...

Seriouly though it will eventually come out and Doodles will slowly clean it out on her own.

Turps will solve your problem, as long as you give the cat a bath afterwards to get the residual turps off.

Well I spent a bit of last night chopping as much of it off as possible until she decided it was play time and tryed to destroy my hand! Tonight I am going to go home and wash the remaining oil out with dishwashing liquid as advised by a vet nurse.... Cheers all for your suggestions and help. My Doodles thanks you! :niceone:

Oil is combustible so it should burn off relatively easy.
