View Full Version : I smoked my last cigarette
Stickchick

Yep thats right, I smoked my last smoke at 8.30pm and have decided to go cold turkey and give up. I have had this habit for 17 years so for me this is a HUGE issue. I have reflux (for those of you who don't know what this is, it means that my stomach produces too much acid and therefore I have constant heartburn and I'm sick quite a lot).:crybaby: My smoking and excess coffee intake has irritated my reflux to the point where I have been sick for the last week and I have decided enough is enough.
So I just flushed my packet down the toilet and felt partly relief and partly nervous as I know if I don't do this then I will be sick more often and will have to rely on my medication which I have been trying to stay away from.
I have given up now as by the time I move to Auckland in a month I should be over most of the cravings and I really don't think it would look all that great if I was constantly grumpy at my new job.
I'm hoping to use this thread as a sort of diary to help me through my withdrawal process and also something to look back at and know that I made a huge and healthy change in my life.
I have the support of my flatmate and also a great person  that is willing to put up with my bad mood swings etc but they are all for it too which makes things a lot better for me.
So watch this space for updates, I warn you some posts may not be all flowers and teddy bears either.:(

Onya Sticky....i gave up 18 yrs ago, when my first Daughter was born, put the packet of smokes on top of the fridge and thats where they stayed, cold turkey!....got into indoor cricket/touch and run the fletcher marathon. Was into the health thing as such but did some stuff that i couldnt do when smoking. Well it lasted 6 years, was so easy to get back into it, was on the piss one night and held a smoke for someone that was playing pool, and i had a drag, the rest is history. Good luck with it.

I know what you about to go through. I'm not going to kid you that this is easy after seventeen years. I got a few tricks up my sleeve should you need some help. But at the moment you are better trying your way than others. I will say that there are some foods........no that's not correct it's the liquid tea coffe and alcohol..........not to mention fizzy drinks that create the urge to smoke. Drink lots of water, milk and fruit. You won't believe how good food will tast just after a day or two. I was going to wish you good luck but luck has nothing to do with success. It's a mindset thing.
PM if needed.

No no no no. There is no such thing as a failed ex smoker. Once a smoker 'always' a smoker. The only difference is that you smoke and I don't. I've mentored a few smokers during their 'quiting phase' and the most important thing I tell them before they start quitting is that they must believe that once they stop they will never smoke again. This 'faith' is crucial to success. Without it there will always be the possibility 'failure' even after years of non smoking. If you ever go down the road again remember that if nothing else.

Good onya - you'll forget you ever smoked before too long. I smoked for 28 years and quit a year and a half ago.
Just take each day as it comes and before too long the cravings will fade.
I worked out that the money I spent on cigarettes would be exactly the same as the cost of a loan to buy a new bike - so I took out a loan and bought a bike - told myself I would have to sell the bike if I had another smoke - still got a bike and no fags.

Good onya for giving up. I smoked 40 a day for years and gave up cold turkey (ok I lapsed once or twice, but I kept at it). Hard to believe that was 20 years ago. I do feel like an ex-smoker now, can't see why I ever would have done it... Good luck, and be ready for some hard work, but it's worth it.

Proceed to your doctor. Say the word "ulcer?". And cut down on the coffee. Two a day is plenty, mmkay? (and that doesn't mean triple-shot macchiatos, either...)

Good luck with your goal to stop smoking.
Interesting comments on this one. My view is once you have been hooked - your brain never forgets. I have given up 3 times and am 12 months into my latest stint. Fourth time lucky? I am pleased with how its gone so far but my brain keeps saying "wouldn't you like a smoke now?" Sometimes I have to really stop myself and focus on something else. My wife still smokes and smelling it around doesn't help. I don't want to start again. I just take it one day at a time. Good luck!

Good on ya! :niceone: I'll keep my fingers crossed for you down here...
Regarding the reflux - have you had a proper diagnose on it? It's quite important that you keep it in check. If you don't and the reflux gets out of control (and this is not to be an alarmist but I know people it has happened to) it can increase your risk of getting cancer in the asaphogous (sp?) and it's NOT pretty.
I got diagnosed with a hiatus hernia back one and a half year ago and got a prescription for some pills called Nexium 40 mg. (Getting the diagnosis is a bit nasty - they put a gastroscope down your throat...)
Anyway, by training my core stability and maintaining a relatively good level of fitness I'm symptom free today and I don't take the pills except for when it comes on. So you can beat it if you get at it.

Some good comments here! Good on you! While I've never smoked, I was addicted to prescription painkillers and it was a living nightmare to get off them!
One thing that may help is my own pet peeve with smoking, the attitude of the manufacturers. Cigarettes are one of the few products which when used as intended will kill you in one of the most horrible and painful ways there is!
I've seen smokers die of cancer, and it's not just the lung cancer,(try suffocating, only in the most painful way you can), but imagine having your throat and face chopped away, losing your voice box and being horribly disfigured before you die. Can't speak, can't look at yourself in the mirror, can't eat, you can imagine, right? Throat and mouth cancer are common.
The tobacco companies couldn't care less how you suffer and die, they just want your money! About 25 years ago, they tried Nicotine-free ciggies. They flopped as no-one liked them. It's the Nicotine that keeps you hooked so the manufacturers lace them with as much as the law will allow to keep you addicted. In lands without strict laws on quantity and advertising they push the limits to hook more people, younger, and stronger. These guys are true murderers and make my blood boil! It's no different from someone torturing and killing another, worse because they do it to make money from their victims!

Consider this....... Both meon3 and me have quit for 18mths now. Biggest help for us was having a packet still in the house somewhere.
Seems silly I know but what usually tripped us up in the past was the feeling of, "***k there are no smokes in the house" and this thought normally became all consuming!
Knowing that there were smokes there if wanted seemed to give us the extra power of knowing that we were not not smoking out of choice rather than having forced ourselves by removing ciggies from our home.
Also, if for some silly reason you have a weak moment and puff on one there is not the guilt of thinking, "well I've spent the money might as well finish the packet"
All you have done is used one that was in that packet in the drawer.
Seems silly I know but this has worked for us .....
May the force be with you....

I don't know about three weeks but if you want to get rid of the toxins really fast go on one. Fasting is not for the faint hearted but after three days you will know all about withdrawal symptoms. The first day you will get massive headaches and the shakes. You will feel like shit. The second day your mouth will feel as if it has been in a sewer. Fur tounge and the sweats. this is the bodys way of getting rid of all the toxins that has acumilated in you over the years. On the morning of the third day you will begin to feel clean. Some lightheadyness will develop during the day and your energy levels will increase. You may think that you are hallucinating but in actual fact what is happening is that you can actuall see better. Colours are vivid and bright. On the morning of the fourth day you can begin to have a little soup. Don't over indulge. If you can get through this it is unlikly that you will have many cravings as most of the nicotine will have left your body. i would reccommend that for the first and second day you stay in bed. Read or get a pile of video's. A word of caution don't watch tv. You will be surprised how many add there are on food and drink. Not the sort of thing you want to see when fasting. And if you are guy you will be walking around with a hard on like a teenager. Don't know about the ladies but girls if you are married and hubby wants to quiet he's gonna be like a rabbit.:bleh:

Well I have just finished darts and I didn't crave for smoke as much as I thought I would and WOW what an improvement in my darts also. I told the people at darts that I was giving up and they would have to stop should I go looking for one. One of the ladies actually gave me some gum to help if I needed it. Think that day might be tomorrow so will see what happens.
Thanks for all the support it is really humbling and also makes me more determined to prove all the doubters wrong by doing this. My own family laughed when I told them what I was doing.
I have been drinking a lot of water and eating a lot of fruit and its amazing how good I actually feel. You could say I had a pretty poor diet before now too. However I am hungry alot more now than I used to be but due to my reflux I have to watch what I eat.
Boomer good luck with the quitting, as you have seen from my posts you have the hard time as well as the good times about it. Pm if you want to share the experience.
I'm very proud of myself for not having a smoke yet and I have found that once you tell the people around you they are there for support 100%.
Now I feel I need to rant and rave and start a fight with someone.....wonder if Dan will answer my call hehehehe.

I'm nearly there and plan on finishing it tonight. If you can get past 3 weeks apparently, then the addiction and poisons will have gone.
My days of being a smoker end today.
Just DO IT
You bought the Nike book of quitting? once you've read the book you realise about the correct mindset and quitting is a lot esier than you think. I was hyper for about a month after I quit.

One of the ladies actually gave me some gum to help if I needed it. Think that day might be tomorrow so will see what happens.
If this gum has nicotine in it THROW IT AWAY. Last place you want to put nicotine in your stomach and intestines. You are trying to get rid of the stuff not put more in. Cold turkey can be rough but that way you get rid of the shit faster. Eat eat and drink and drink. Gorge up on porridge fruit and get your bowls moving. Ya doing fine.

Yep the mindset is crucial. Have not read the book. What do they say on stress reduction. This is where most people fail. A stressfull situation occurs and they can not deal with this and resort to a toke..........get despondent and say 'what the fuck' and fail to give up. Managing your stress levels can be achived by some simple breathing techniques. In actual fact smokers realy need to retrain their breathing. But that's another story. What's the book say on all this??

Well done, good on ya!
I gave up 29yrs ago. It was hard, but I do not regret the decision.
I got sick of being married to a packet of cigarettes, I hate being controlled.
I could'nt go anywhere without that damn packet.
So I now have swapped it for motorbikes, all 6 of them.

I'm nearly 2 years free of smokes now :-)
My 2c or what helped me:
The first weeks I ate snacks, lots of them and yup, weight increased until I found carrots.
Recognise your successes, they are not inconsequential, if no one else will then pay yourself on the back, you deserve it!
Goals - 6 months and i had saved enough to ride a Rusty Nuts Grand Challenge
Is anyone else around you giving up? If so bounce off them, "if they can do it, I can do it" is really powerful! There are a few others kickin the habit at the moment... http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=59158.

Oppps, My boss has just come back from a Holiday in Australia and I had to resign in an email so we haven't had a chance to talk about why I'm leaving etc. Being in the foul mood I am, I was completely and totally honest about my job and what i thought of my assistant, which is not very pleasant. However he took it quite well after I mentioned I had given up smoking and today was Day 2.
I have to say the way I felt when I woke up this morning is pretty dam bad. I feel like I have a whole pile of shit on my chest like I have a chest cold. I have an AWFUL taste in my mouth that just won't go away no matter how much I brush my teeth. Chewing gum however is helping the cause.

This is the bit where your body is busy expelling all the toxins from fag smoke (along with a bit of withdrawal). So that is why you feel crap.
Don't worry, it doesn't last for too many days, otherwise none of us would have quit! A week or 10 days max was what I seem to remember - I thought of it as having been microchipped by a large american tobacco company and that microchip was trying to program me back to buying fags so the executives could buy more yachts, hookers, boob jobs for their wives and mistresses, obnoxiously expensive cars, $10,000 lunches . . . all while I get to slowly kill myself for them to do so. This used to piss me off so much I managed to not give in. Wankers.

Good on you for quitting and I hope you last the distance. My parents both smoked all their lives, as did all my siblings but smoking never appealed to me. Last night I lost my mother to lung cancer so it appeals even less now. She was only diagnosed 26 October and they told us she had one to four months. Well, we got three fucking weeks with her and that sucks.
I wouldn't wish what she went through on my worst enemy - not even some of you lot on KB! She lost over 30kg in a few months because she couldn't eat or drink without vomiting and in her final days she could hardly even swallow.
Smoking just isn't worth it from my point of view.

Day # 3...
ok.. some insights.
I feel like i've slept when i wake up
I wake up VERY early
My chest hurts still
My breathing is so much .....'healthier' ( full breaths, clean air, no tightness or weezing )
NO.. yes, NO mood swings; which is strange because going on a flight of over 3 hrs would have me hangin of the roof
I'm mentally consumed and have been for 3 days with regards to Smoking/Not smoking.. i can't wait to think about something else. That being said.. its not because i want/need to have a fag/fix...
Time seems to be going so much slower..... someones hit the go slow button. THIS BIT IS VERY SURREAL... :psst:
I now have an appetite.
I can handle :puke:every now and again.
I'm a little perplexed as to WHY the full 180 degree turn on around for me with regards to
Being addicted - No longer being addicted
Being psychologically needy - no longer being needy
It's VERY strange, i no longer want or need a cigarette and when the little voice in me says now would be a good time for a smoko.. i just laugh and say yeah nah. I DON'T smoke.
Still.. Day #3 is supposed to be a milestone, the next one is 3 weeks.. give or take a few days ....
How you doing Chicky..??

Pretty much the same as you boomer, except I have a cold to fend off as well. I'm not sleeping all that well but that isn't the smoking just the stress of needing to make sure I have everything done before i move to Auckland. As for the appetite mine is huge which is scary as I don't really want to put on too much weight. I have mood swings but then again I haven't finished reading that book yet so today is a good opportunity to finish it. I have found I don't really have the cravings anymore just the urge to do something with my hands. I have also found that my half hour walk to and from work, I don't feel puffed by the time I get to work or home either which is an awesome feeling:2thumbsup. I'm starting to taste things a bit more than usual..i.e I drink soft drink at Darts and I have had to switch to diet drinks as they don't taste as sweet to me and I'm not a person that enjoys sweet things too much. mmmm Wonder if thats why I'm attracted to Dan?:love:
However I believe this weekend will be a huge challenge as being bored is also tempting to have a smoke. But I'm sure that I can keep myself busy. Plenty of housework and people to visit, which will also give me a good excuse to grow some balls and ride my bike which I have been putting off with some excuse or another.
Boomer keep me posted on how you are going this weekend I'm curious to knoe.

Also gota take Mary's Mum to church so can't come over. Just put the smokes away and go for a walk. You are right you don't need them.............. The head rush will prevent you from riding. Have you guys considered something as extreme as physical exercise to celebrate your clean lungs (or to speed up the cleaning process depending on how you look at it)?
I think you might be able to channalise the restless energy you have into something really good. Just a short run or jog - even a brisk walk or some such.
Allow me to add some motivational fodder - a cautionary tale.
One of my girlfriend's best friends back home called the other day. Her mother who's been a heavy smoker her entire life and got diagnosed with lung cancer not that long ago just got the "death sentence". Her primary tumor in her lungs has spawned secondary tumors in her lymph nodes. She won't have much time left...
Furthermore, her father - who's not a smoker by the way - went to the doctor with back aches. Turns out he has a tumor in his spine - a secondary tumor... the primary tumor is in his lungs. So his days are numbered as well...
So my girlfriend's friend is obviously shattered that she'll almost certainly have no parents left next year. And her young children will be two grandparents short as well. Its fucking hard, but what can you do, what can you say?
The choice you make today is important, not just for you - but for everyone who relies on and cares about you. Still, its your choice, make the one that is right for you.

Well if I was going to give into temptation, today would have been the day. But instead I have gone for a walk to clear thoughts in my head and relax myself abit.
I have had a prick of a day due to asking my assistant to do some REAL work and help me out with some urgent work that needed to be done. Instead I got hauled into a meeting by my boss and told not to have the attitude that just cause I am leaving, I should still care about what I am doing...Where he got this fucking idea is beyond me. I'm not the type of person that hands in their notice and just sits around and waits to do their time before leaving. I asked him where he got this idea from and he said because I asked my assistant to help me out. Apparently she had told him that I have an attitude since handing in my notice and she can't work like that....WTF!!!!
I am still doing my job to the best of my ability and just because I asked her not to take her half hour tea break and hour and a half lunchtime so we can get the work finished I have an attitude.
I will be sooooo glad to be out of that place!!!!! Rant over

I have had some weak moments I have to admit. But I don't enjoy it and I don't have to have it either. When I have had a weak moment I go back to reading the book. I don't have cravings and I feel heaps better except getting a blasted cold.
My reflux has improved dramatically which I'm impressed about and now I'm back to one pill a day instead of four. Sometimes I don't need to have the one, depending on what food I'm eating.
Poor Dan has put up with my bad moods, short temper but has been great as a support person. The one thing that surprises me is the fact that I can hang out with other smokers and not feel like I want one. Its a vast improvement all round and just adds to the many improvements I have made within myself this year. I'm proud of myself and that isn't something I have ever said to myself before.
So Dan I want to publically thank you  Just being there when I whinged, moaned etc meant a lot:love:

As an ex-smoker, I still think that it is a lifestyle decision. I tried any number of times to give up and failed, because in my heart I just didn't want to. My wife fell pregnant, I thought "fuck this, no more fannying around, I'm giving up" and that was pretty much that. As Alexei Sayle said, "I've stopped putting my dick in the blender."

there's a body of qualified opinion
of which this is one minor part ("http://http://www.aanos.org/chrmn_crnr_smoking.htm"/) which says it's addictive and should be approached as such .........

Its been just over two months of being smokefree (Well sort of) I have had some set backs, especially at Christmas time and New Years, but I feel so much better for it. I'm more alert, I'm not so tired all the time and my stomach isn't giving me as much hassle as it used to. Last night would have been the only time in the last month and 1/2 that I have had to take my medication so that just goes to prove what smoking was doing to me. I struggle when I'm drinking but have learned to ignore thoses feelings. Recently at a friends place for dinner etc, I was drinking and I wanted to have a smoke but just focused on something else until the urge went away and I'm happy with it.
Even though I have had some set backs I'm rather proud of myself for how far I have come with my choice to give up. Not bad for the first time and also trying to stick with it. Dan, thank you for the pep talks and putting up with the bad moods when I really wanted to have a smoke, it is really appreciated.

I haven't touched a cigarette since the beginning of November. Have been around people who were smoking, and it hasn't bothered me at all. Have even been drinking, and didn't feel like a smoke.
The funniest thing happened though: I really went off coffee and alcohol. I don't know if it's because subconsciously, I know they were triggering my desire for a cigarette, or whether my tastebuds were not into the taste of it after being cleansed from no more nicotine. But heck, it feels great!
I have now started a 3 months exercise plan and am finally able to run for about 15 minutes at a well paced jog without looking like a beetroot or collapsing like an asphyxiated goldfish out of water...
I saw Boomer on a track day before Christmas, and I never saw him with a smoke, so me thinks he is doing rather well

I have noticed that if I limit my alcohol intake I don't have to fight the urge that hard. I could never give up coffee......Christ Dan would hate me in the mornings thats for sure :argue::girlfight:

However, I have once again stopped smoking as of today, my collegues have been warned in case I snap for no reason at all. My close friends have also been warned (I know what I was like the first time, thought it best to say sorry now).

The thing that HELPED** me the most, was the support I got. This is what I did ;
I decided to quit, then gave my last half packet of fags and lighter to my mrs, and asked her to hide them where I couldn't find them. Now the process begins - you all know it well.
When I was having a shit day, and I hit rock bottom, I needed a smoke real baaaad, so I go to her "please can I have a smoke ? just one will do."
She wanders off and comes back with a fat sandwich and a cuppa coffee for me, and sits down and says "whats the matter, mate?". And I talk until I feel better.
At the end of this, she asks "do you still want that smoke ?" and I'm like, "no thanks, I'm feeling much better."
The other thing that reduced the mind-racing, was taking regular breaks. You must stop every hour or two, or whenever you feel you mind getting too cluttered, and stop, close your eyes, and empty your mind. You were doing this every time you stopped for a smoke, and you mustn't stop doing it or you will feel like you are going mad.. just without the smoke you see.
It's doable though - everyone's doing it, and so can you.
** People can only help. They can never do it for you.

Dont sweat it mate. I smoked for 13 odd years. It took me 4 goes to kick it. The final successful time I tried was relatively easy due to the fact I was just so fucken over it. I dryreached on my last fag and couldnt even finish it!
There is hope.
I would wish you luck - but luck has nothing to do with it.

Took me three attempts. Pesonlly I belive it's a timeing thing. Not too sure if I mentioned the breathing thing. I believe the key to giving up is learning how to manage the stress. PM if any advice is needed.

You've actually got to want to stop smoking. Nobody can tell you to. Of course, other people giving you smokes doesn't help... and coming from a family of smokers doesn't help either...

I'm into Day 3 for the second time around, and I have to say I pity poor Dan. All my stress has been taken out on him. Think I'm pretty lucky that he loves me.
I'm avoiding any alcohol has that just starts cravings, so will see how that lasts.

Good on you :) i was wondering after seeing you on the weekend how you were going.
A mate of mine Rob (not RobertyDog) has given up recently, and he won't drink alcohol at all because he gets that same trigger.
Good on you for giving it another go :)

Dunno if this has been mentioned because i skipped from the start 2 the end of this thread, but me and my missus and 90% of our friends gave up (after many years and failed attemts) after reading Allan Carr's Easy Way to Give Up Smoking book. Its amazing you don't even miss cigs or have cravings, and it actually works. If you are serious about quitting for life then go on Tardme and buy it, it will pay for itself in a week!
Preach over and good luck

I smoked 20-25 a day for 12 years, gave up (cold turkey) when babies started appearing in the house.
I struggled through the first few days, and hit the wall at day four from memory. Sitting in the work smoko-room (it was a "smoko" room back then), overwhelmed with cravings, I talked to a colleague who had given up smoking a couple of years previously. I asked him when the cravings started to ease off, and he gave me advice that I've carried to this day.
"Quiting smoking is 90% psychological." he reckoned. "You need to draw a line in the sand. When you make that firm commitment to yourself that you are NOT going to smoke again, the cravings will ease."
I went away and had a quiet few moments to myself. I made the commitment. I was not going to "try to give up" - I was NOT going to smoke again. Straight away, the cravings eased.
Over 20 years smoke-free now.
It ain't easy, but hang in there. Make the commitment - it's worth it.

I haven't read all 11 pages but do you know about the Mozilla program that will help you quit. Quitmozilla configuration.
Program it and at the hover of a mouse it will give you:
Number of ciggies not smoked
Savings
Time in days/years/hours not smoked
Last milestone.
Which in my case is 2 years four days and one hour off the damn things and 11,025 ciggs not smoked and a saving of $5,512.95...as I type.
As Obama said: "Can you quit"? YES YOU CAN!
And that advice from Virago is relevant. Determination. In my case I gave my half full packet of Pocket Edition and all my papers, lighter and stuff to my adult son and told him to put it in his top drawer in his room. I new I could get to it but opening that drawer would have been a violation of his privacy, so it would be a double-downer to retrieve the tobacco. I also quit on my birthday's eve so I would have an easily remembered quit point.
Think about telling the people you love that you have been to the Dr today with a nasty cough and that you have blood in your phlegm. Totally avoidable. Cancer, death and heartbreak to everyone involved in your life. YOU CAN DO IT!

The best thing about not smoking? The taste of things. Not just really tasty things but everyday things like coffee and butter (yes, it's bad for you) and well... everything! I found the best thing when I quit was to continue the same routines - I still went out for a smoke break but didn't smoke. I still got up and had a coffee first thing in the morning but didn't light up. You'll get there chickie...

I will have stopped smoking 4 years on 1 Jan 2009 (i smoked for 25 yrs = $35,000 in smokes).
I look at it this way.....
I can save myself $20,000 over the next 20 years by not lighting up another cigarette & just buy myself a brand new bike instead.
mmmmm

Well, it's been Xmas and New Years, how have you been doing Sticky? Hope it's going well for you - still non-smoking? Found out yesterday that my work pay for staff to quit. They pay for all the patches and gum etc, not actually pay by the hour.
I heard a suggestion that I thought was pretty good - Quit smoking, one smoke at a time. Count the number of smokes you have in a day and the next day have one less. Apparently you gradually change the habit of having a smoke and also gradually cut down the amount you smoke. Not everyone can go cold turkey.

Sounds like you are one determined lady sticky...
I gave up the day we buried my brother in law. Nearly 4yrs ago. I had like you been getting reflux and being sick a lot then that week I smoked my way through the funeral to 'cope', made it to the funeral day then ended up back at drs the following day with tonsilitus.
It was my 5th? attempt to give up and my only sucessfull one. All previous attempts ended after a few months. The difference for me the last time was 3 fold.
First difference was I decided that if I never actually put a lit smoke in my mouth I could not smoke it. dumb but true. I have held them, fondled them, fantasized about them and even pretended to smoke them and invade the space surrounding other smokers just to get a whiff. But I have never put a lit smoke in my mouth since.
I gave up at an extremly stressful time in my life. I figured if I can give up whilst stressed then I can stay gived up when stressed(yeah I know bad engrish.)
and finally and proberly most importantly for me, I no longer enjoyed smoking. If I ever forget how much I disliked it? I have a mate who smokes inside. I go round to her place in the morning (before the windows are opened) and it takes me about 2 seconds after walking into her place to remember why I disliked it.
Goodluck sticky. Its a blardy hard hill to climb but if I could do it I am sure anyone can. Every attempt to quit is an attempt closer to success.

Allan Carr's book is fantastic! :niceone: it really worked for me and my partner. the only issue i had with it was that you have to continue smoking until you finish the book and the more you read the harder it is to smoke! i felt sick and disgusted at every cigarette after reading about half of this book!
we have both been cigarette free for months now...between 4 and 6 months i think, and we both have no desire to ever smoke a cigarette again!
