Does the internet give people big balls, to show aggression they would not consider in real life ?
By way of an analogy:
If I was getting a beer in the pub and someone said - "hey, thats Tui, I think thats crap, cos its far to weak for a real india ale. Why not try this brand?" then thats a helpful discussion. It happens lots.
If someone says "I hate Tui" and gives me red rep, then thats an opinion. It happens from time to time, but its not a problem.
If someone says "You drink Tui, you are a c*nt" - then thats an attack on me, and would be dealt with in the pub. It hasn't happened for years !
Yet on Kiwibiker.. some of my red rep says "Don't agree".
But some says "You are a c*nt I hate your fucken arse"
And it pisses me off, that I get annoyed about it.
Maybe I AM just a cunt !
But please find the balls to tell me in the pub , not from 600km away behind your pen name and keyboard !

I'm more interested in why people don't feel that they just can't say, "I don't agree <insert relevant expleteive here>", in a post. Stand up and fight, damn it.

Do we think having threads like this actually solves things
I am finding it increasingly difficult to find threads worth reading on KB lately, actually a lot of people aren’t even bothering to post much any more – pity, I use to enjoy it
But this kind of bitch fighting in a thread is becoming a KB hallmark – should call the site KBB (Kiwi Bitchy Bikers)

Well how about you kick it off by starting a new thread worth reading.
I did a ride thread for you last weekend http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=61749 that's what biking is about eh!

Ah good King David, does regicide loom large in your virtual life? Forsooth, the person of the King is inviolable, you have nothing to fear.
There is a recent thread, which naturally I cannot find, with a link to an interesting study of online behavior. The anonymity of the net allows people to huff and puff with real or imagined passion, safe from any physical retribution.
Sometimes the abuse is funny, sometimes very clever, but more often banal. Ignore it.

You think that's bad, Sidewinder left me 3x negatives on completely random posts - and he left "from Carver" on the end of them! Now I don't know if they're the one and the same or whatever, but that's a pretty softcock thing to do. Especially since I wasn't a "Senior Member" at the time and I couldn't see who they were really from.
But who cares about it anyways, seems to be more of a tool used to anonymously flame newbies with anyways.

Not having met you I can't possibly comment.
But I'll definitely be polite to you if I bump into you in a pub in Horowhenua.
(Is there more than one pub in Horowhenua? :-)
The only time I was pissed off enough with someone on KB to fire a verbal shot at them it was so oblique it passed them by unnoticed.
In retrospect that probably wasn't a bad thing
I guess if somebody pissed me off all *that* much I'd check out the ignore list facility.
