Haha one day this'll end up like the bloods, crips and yaks.

GNs, Hyosungs, Jap IL4's.

I'm working on planning a few 250 rides for you all over the summer holidays and I bet others like gijoe will be too.

Hoping to test a north bound route this weekend on the CBR.

dude rain?

Hoping for enough dry time on sat to scrub my tyres in. Once that's done I don't mind a bit of rain. Hell commuting in the rain on my new tyres is more scary.

You'll rarely see me on 250 rides these days, in fact you'll rarely see me with more than 2 or 3 others...

But one of them uni rides?

You'll never see me on one of them.

Hey boys and girls our Uni Scottah & Motorcycle Club is having their learner/250 Ride tomorrow at 10am outside Auckland Uni Gym!

If you didn't know earlier then you probably weren't paying attention! :spanking:

But check often in the Uni forums as there's things going on most weeks!

Saturday Ride for Learners
Dates: 22nd Dec 2007 (Sat), Rain date is Sunday
Who: All are welcome, however we are targeting those who would like to gain more experience in group and open road riding, silly shit will not be tolerated.
Where: TBA, Most likely northbound, approx 200-250km
Time: Meet at 10am, University gym, depart 10:30/45

Notes: This will be the first of, hopefully, monthly rides to help those in the club who have not had much experience on the open road, or in riding in groups. The emphasis will be on going at your own pace, becoming accustomed to the road and just general good riding practices (spacing, cornering...).

There will be more experienced riders among the others, and if riders are having troubles they can discuss these with them at the next stopping point, then try and put into practice what they have learnt. There is no rush, quite often you will fine you learn better when hanging back and cruising, all turns will be marked and nobody will be left behind.

Pre-ride check: It's come to my attention that some of the bikes coming on the rides are lacking in the maintenance department (chains just about jumping off, tyre pressures way too low, useless brakes). Everyone coming should have a thorough look over their bike, and correct any issues before the ride. We will also take a quick look over them before departure. If its not road worthy it aint coming.
That said, i can probably help most people on friday if they want to adjust chains and so forth, number is below.

Contact person: Myself (Stephen) on 0212685528, email: sdod021@ec.auckland.ac.nz

Just a little pointer for some of you lesser experienced peeps.

When someone approaches your six (in other words, catches up to you) don't, I say again DON'T indicate (for half a second), brake and swerve to lefthand shoulder.

Its friggin dangerous, thats how you'll end up causing an accident.

If you're at a nice pace, minding your own business - who blardy cares, who pulls up behind you - let them pass you in their own time.

Sometimes its just ok, to sit in behind and ride together, I don't care whether you have an L plate or not.

I see that may be for me:confused:. I take your advice and apprechiate it. As I'm in the stage of developing habits (being L plater and all) I need all the help I can get developing the right and not the wrong ones. Mucho thanko for that my friend and I will work contiously on that. Mucho thanko again and greeno blingo for you :yeah:

Thanks everyone for the nice ride. I wasn't sure where was the turn off and since I was left back in the dust when I saw trumplady go in that BP it was too late - I was already past the off ramp. I probably ride like a nana but I dont fancy loosing my licence while on my L plate coz you know if I get clocked at 110 on an L plate I loose the bike privilages. Hopefully on tuesday that should be sorted and I can speed freely with you guys

EJ thanks alot for organising the ride and and helping me out in the BP I owe you brother. RAJ thanks for leading man - as before I learn from your lines. Sad you were not with us in the second half but hope you've had nice time to Whangamata and some day you can show us too :)

Draco - your dragons very cool indeed. Nice to finally ride with you.

Thrump Lady as usual your pinky bikey was so beautiful...got a smile every time I looked at it. Congrats olso on your new tattoe. thanks for being TEC. Pleasure to ride with you

EJ you took so many photos brother - felt like paris hilton at a press confirence promoting her new sex tape (lol :msn-wink:) hope you post up some of the pics up brother.

Thanks all.

The above mentioned noobs were on a GN 2 fiddy followed by a trike or was until they (the clown driving the trike) dove hard into the lefthand shoulder under brakes forcing me to take evasive action and pass on a piece of road I would not normally consider.

Dunno who it was, but their actions were not those of experienced riders.
