I know the photo is shit but I couldn't bear to leave my baby out in the rain getting wet just to get a better shot. Can wait till the weekend for some nice pics
After an intensive week of test riding every supersport bar the Daytona plus a few wildcards I finally decided on my new bike.
The 07/08 CBR certainly lives up to its supersport rep and all the reviews. Thanks to Grant at Cyclespot who put together a great deal I get to own one  (the last 08 in Auckland until the new shipment arrive in Jan I understand).
I'll be updating my test riding thread (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=61905) with my results from taking yesterday off work to test some more bikes for those who want to know how I made the call.
4 weeks from being taken out by a cage this definitely makes up for the pain and inconvenience of not having a bike and the wee trip to the hospital.
Huge thanks for Obstacle for lending me his Hornet for the last week or two. I think it must have turned me

Thanks guys! It's like having a baby innit!
As you can see I don't care what people say about Honda's either. They might have lost the razor edge for a bit there but I think they're onto a winner with the 07/08. You hear the old "it doesn't have character" shit but man this bike does. Let it rip and it growls and snaps. Can't wait to get on the track!
EJ, you're right I was going to get a 636. Then I rode heaps of bikes and realised it's just not the bike for me. Much as I love the look and the ride the ergonomics don't fit my body at all.
What I've learned doing all this testing is that buying a bike on specs, looks and KB hearsay is foolish. You HAVE to try them.

I just worked out on the weekend that d sits about 4 desks away from me at work, so I've been quizzing him about his rides.
Monday he was sucking air between his teeth at the extra cost of a hunda.
Well done.

Hehe I was a total nanna riding her back to work and home from Cyclespot. Brand new BT015's in the 30mins after rain is scary shit.
Was hoping to get it off the floor before the rain to scrub the tyres in but alas...

Yep Grant made me an offer I just couldn't refuse and made it close enough.
I'm not the only one on the floor with a new bike in the last week either :)

Yes, yes you did. I love the run in instructions in the manual. It's like one sentence that basically says "don't do full throttle starts or labour the engine for the first 500km" . Think I can manage that.

That's a sweet ride! So did you get all nervous and have the slight shakes when you picked it up from the shop? :calm:

Wasn't too bad but made sure I had insurance sorted before I left. I've ridden on brand new tyres in the rain before so I knew it was going to be slippery as. More rain tomorrow by the looks too. Curse of the new bike

I'm curious though as to why you didn't testride the Daytona 675? I reckon it's a rather cool bike and have come to understand from people who've tried it that it rides as prettily as it looks.

Awesome!! so pretty!! :D
@Turned ... I will be test riding like you have done (tried everything) when the time comes... *counting down*... fark it seems like ages ago it was 6 months to go... !... now its still 3 months 2weeks to go!...
I think I have my heart set on a honda... but then there is still a kawasaki twin that might pip the honda at the post... I wanna try them now!... so much indecision!... I've been told by fireball however that the two bikes I have kinda decided its between have to be the last two that I test ride lol!.... have been filling up my brain with info n specs... asking opinions on certain machines etc... maybe a little too much... I was thinking bikes before I fell asleep last night... I have bikes on my brain lol!
anyhow... *rant*.... That is one sexy beast!!... Enjoy!! :Punk:

Make sure the garage gets locked mate. theres punks out there that will watch you drive it in, day after day, and then go and tell one of their 'mates' there is a sweet bike to rip off. I dyna-bolted my baby down to the floor. At least it would slow them down!
Sweet bike. Look after her.

It just came down to time and money. I'd have liked to give one as it might have given the Honda a run for it. They're all awesome bikes but I could have kept testing for weeks if I threw in more naked and older bikes in (K5 gixxers, 748 or 749, buells, etc).
congratulations! best colour too imho
enjoy it :scooter:
Thanks :) Not that I had a choice of colours unless I wanted to swap with the red/white demo I test rode. The red/white looks pretty crap in photos but the white is pearl and looks lovely in the sun. Can't wait to see the Hanspree replica paint job. Only 3 coming to NZ.

Yeah gotta be mega careful about security. The good thing is most of the time I'm not there neither is the bike.
Have separated the keys too so I don't have to do the $1500 replacement ECU if I lose both.
Awesome!! so pretty!! :D

Bikes are rather addictive eh.. I finally got a good night sleep now that I have made a decision. The worst part is just before you have your 6F and know what you want to test but can't. Especially when your old bike is in bits.
