Well, as some of you know I bought an 89 250cc Ninja about 5 months ago. It was in a bit of a mess and did not even run. The fuel was old in it, it had no battery and generally was not in the best of condition. I have been slowly working on it over the last few months to get it back on the road. It has been around the block 3 times in the last 2 months, and each time around ran like a pile of old dogshit, mind you the last time around ran like a fresh dogturd.
Someone on the Kawasaki forums suggested I try "seafoam" to clean the jets and carbie. I tried to find some but to no avail and at the end resorted to Nulon Injector cleaner.
Well, I geared up this arvo and headed towards Ferrymead...Bike started to run a bit cleaner...good sign. It no longer bogged down at 5000rpm. Then headed up Mt Pleasant Rd and over the saddle road towards the sign of the kiwi. Bike starts to splutter a bit so slowly head back down. Got to the bottom of the hill and the bike suddenly dies on me, no lights no nothin....bummed out!
Well, took seat cover off and noticed terminal was loose on battery...off to Mitre 10 to get a screwdriver. Tightened up terminals and bike started again. Ran sweet all the way to the woolston club...parked up and had a pint...Off home the bike was sweet as.:scooter:
I will be back on the road legally real soon:yes:
P.S Forgot a trick I learnt years ago, that is to tuck in yer laces. Almost dropped bike at lights as my laces got tangled round gear lever:shit:
