Christchurch Helicopters- they're at the airport.
Or at Ruapuna itself, provided the fuel pump is open.
Both options require a race licence but I'm sure you are aware of that.

Edit: Dangerous will be along to tell you how hard it is to get AVGas from Chch Helicopters, but I found it incredibly easy:rolleyes:

between the two places... na. However the hellichopter place were the rescue chopper hangs out sells AvGas, but you need to sign lots a shit and show a race licence.

The only other place that sells it is the Waimak chalange, they heve never asked me for Id or a licence and it is the only place out side of the airport that sells Avgas, anywere else its expired avgas and knowen as No1 racing.

You can ofcourse get it at Ruapuna however its very really ever open, and Id say its #1 race

prick... you beat me to post by a matter of seconds LOL, na its easy just a rigrmole of signing ya life away and showing proff, but thats understandable as you have to go out on to the taxi way to pump it.
were as I was usd to the Waimak, pump pay out a there.

I saw you were posting :bleh:
D's comments about the age of the fuel are on the money. Chch Helicopters have proper fresh AvGas

For those comming to and racing in this weekends Nats at chch, Garden City Helicopers is still selling race gas for $2 per litre......but will be going up as soon as they get the pump recalibrated by BP.
They are at the entrance to Chch airport (Westpac rescue helicoper).....Remember your race licence.

There is also avgas at the servo at Kurow , I guess if you take a big triangulated detour you will find it between the two points you want it.

mmmm  sorry I guess that is helpful in a very unhelpful way. Good luck!

Isnt it bullshit how your "supposed "to have a race licence to buy avgas
when all your getting is whats not good enough for a air plane
its just 98 with a little lead in it
yeah go to the rakaia sevo theres a pump for it
......unless your engine is high compression ,it probably wont make shit all difference (just for those that are now going to the rakaia garage )

Bullshit.... mate listen and weep

You need a race licence because its eligle to use a leaded fuel on the road, its for sports use only (boat, plane, racing) why... cos the greenies say so AND... cos theres no road tax on it :pinch:

Racing fuel is expired avgas why... cos would you want to fly in a aircraft that has fuell not at its best?

IF YOU BUY... avgas then you are getting the same shit that aircraft get avgas is avgas mate, it is NOT 98oct it is a far beter refined fuel eg: oct rating is +/- 5 not 15, gezzz some people now shit.

Race gas is not as pure as avgas it can have a higher water content,
pretty much the same as avgas but avgas is more pure cause you can't have planes falling out of the sky.

Im not saying that all avgas is 115 octane
it depends
you should clearly know this
all im saying is that what you will get at the sevo wont make shit difference in most bikes ,as there have to be a high compression to get the performance
I already said im not a trac person
but the so called avgas at the sevo is only 98 octane
its the stuff you dont need a licence for
you drive in fill and go

Avgas that the planes get is anywhere from 100 to 115 octane
it depends what they make

I fully know the difference between race gas and Avgas...

The reason for using avgas in my race bikes is cos they are highly worked they need a beter quality fuel a fuel with the natural lubrcant LEAD.
I get NO performance inhansments from using it... its just beter quality.

In the south Is only some PB's have 98 a fuel imported from Oz modified for NZ... 91-96 fuel in NZ is shiter than shit.

BTW Avgas is 100oct +\- SFA unlike servo fuels which can be +/- 15oct

i used to think that running 98 in my bike would be better for it performance wise
which it would be if the compression ratio was say 10.8 or higher
but it only 9.5 so it will actually perform better on 91
but anyways from what ive been made aware the servos dont get any higher than 98 oct but yes it will be leaded fuel

your engine will run best on 91... 96 is the same shit but with more shit aditives.
Your engine will be most happy with 91 but it will deteriat a lot faster than if using 98 imported, how ever we never keep bikes longnuff to worry bout the fouling up etc that NZ shit fuels do, so the expence of 98 isnt warinted.

However the likes of me with big block airheads and high compresion (Buell, Guzzi) the bikes are not happy on 91 or 06, they pink and run like shit so I need to use 98 and/or an oct aditive.

yeah i do know the fuels are crap
i know the performance droped a bit when they changed leaded to unleaded ,i could feel it in my car at the time

you will need a higher performance fo rthe bikes your running .
Whats a good octane booster for in my bike ,its stock standard other than the aftermarket exhaust ....bandit 1200

Is there something that will be better ,and that wont damage the engine
Or just use 91

91 should be fine in your bike even tho air cooled. If it pinks on the hotter days then you could try Nulon Pro Strenth, it lubes the valves and seating etc aswell, however it aint cheap.
