Hi everybody.
I Just got my first bike (well a couple of weeks ago), and its awesome. At least I think so.
Anyway I was just wondering,
'How Do You Attach Your Helmet To Your Bike'.
I've been told all bikes have helmet locks, but I can't find mine. Is it the crappy little hook thing near my seat release? If it is, how does it work?

Most the time you open the seat and theres a hook you can put ya helmet D-rings from the chin strap in and then shut the seat and its locked in. hope that helps

don't bother, if it rains you'll have a damp helmet.

And Joe Public has access to it while you're away to do what ever damage they may feel like doing, inadvertantly or deliberately. An expensive piece of safety equipment that protects your head & can be compromised by even a small knock certainly wouldn't be left out of my sight.

I've heard of too many helmets getting nicked so I take mine every where. Dont even know if my bike has a helmet lock...

Congrats on the bike & welcome to the site. :2thumbsup I don't leave my helmet on bike much, a bit too risky esp cos there are members of the public that might think its funny to do gross things - vomit, spit etc, etc. Not that it's happened to me but a few weeks ago a fellow KBer had her seat vomitted on! :disapint:

Use to occasionally leave the helmet on the bike, but am rethinking this right now.
Something else I saw recently was a guy who left his helmet hanging off the end of his handlebar - now that looked risky. Not sure if he was going for a CHiPs type effect or what.

If your seat has a key lock and the helmet hook is part of it, you generally turn the key one way to open the seat and the other way to open the helmet hook. But I don't use mine either unless I wear my shitty old helmet that I only wear when I am not going to have an accident.

you should have a good bike there. i saw jared love and some other young guy (who was a damn good drawer) having a good ol tussle with a couple of them on the track at taupo last week. and jared reckoned he was trying pretty good but the young guy kept pullin away on the straight.

Wet, damaged, vandalised, vomited in,...
Yeah, I think I'll be keeping my helmet with me.
Not leaving it on the bike.
Thanks for the advice, you people raise some good points.
