Short version: Graham Burton, despite being a certifyable nutcase, is allowed out on parole. Whereby he goes and kills a few people and is finally bought down by the rozzers who shoot him in the leg. Hooray for the rozzers. He spends a while in hospital where the leg is finally amputated and is wheeled back into prison in a wheelchair at obviously very considerable and continuing expense to the Kiwi public.

The widow of one of his victims, mother to two little boys (5 and 8), is given a bill for legal aid (for the inquest into his death). $19,000. She's told she has to pay it back at $25 a week ... "Okay, I can just maintain that', but that's their takeaway night a week. It's a pair of shoes for the kids."

I haven't been this appalled in a long time.

US Constitution says Arnie can never become president as ne is foreign born however given the current administrations knack of ignoring the constitution when it suits them - all I think all they would need is another 9/11 event (and it would not surprise me if they manufactured such a thing) to suspend the Constitution, declare martial law, and off they go. Its been done before - the Reichstag fire - and an Austrian was the beneficiary of that, too

That was reported in the News. However the Minister was interviewed and said it won't happen.
