Hey everyone - I need help.

I had a wee slide over the long weekend on my Hyobag and Scratched up the fairing. Easily fixable as there are no cracks or broken bits.

Does anyone know where I can find crash knobs for hyosung or if there is someone (maybe on kb) who can make custom for a hyosung.

Your help much apprechiated. Many thanks.

Have been investigating these for my GT250R.....

1. Yup they exist
2. They are pricey....around $300.00 for a set (I know...Thats what I was quoted, and not from NZ)

3. To fit, they require a small hole to be cut in the fairing, in order to mount properly...

4. Have got a contact in Aus, who is trying to source sets at a greatly reduced price...( Waiting on reply )

Can let you know how I get on with prices etc, as soon as I hear something

:)

This is the company I've always got my crash bungs from:

http://www.rg-racing.com/browseBike/Hyosung/GT250R/All_Years.aspx

Looking at your bike, at today's exchange rate, they're around $200 + shipping.

They also come with fitting instructions and are very easy to fit.

Yeah, mate - I've used these guys for years when I was in England (they're pretty much industry standard over there and in Europe) and also used them from here for my current bike. All their products are top notch.

I'm confused - are the knobs the guys standing around, or the metal thingos (technical term) on the bucket? :spudwhat:

Hey mate... Here is a great link. I would be keen on getting something setup with you considering you are in auckland. Would need a laser level and as the post suggests to strap the bike down on a trailer.

I'll have to see how my bike repair goes. If they go well (doesn't cost to much) then I'll probably buy some of the ones from the UK

Wont you still have to attach them to the frame through the fairings? The frame mounts are there but no hole in the fairing... Still need to drill it out; regardless of where you buy them.

Come to Auckland... we will have a crash bung mounting party. HAHA...

Yeah your right, drilling a hole in the fairing is going to be extremely hard. I'll have to mark out where I want the hole to be, and then I'll have to find the drill in the garage. Finding a drill bit the right size will be a huge mission alone. But the hardest part will be the actual drilling itself. From what I've heard, the most important thing is to make sure the drill is turning the correct way.

No no, read the article I posted - its good. The bike is held stationary on a trailer with some tie downs. Take the side fairing off. Line a laser level up with the centre of the frame mount. Replace the fairing and the laser level will show you the centre of the frame mount. Cover with masking tape to prevent a mess and drill. The laser level makes heaps of sense. Repeat on the other side unless you phucked up the first side and have decided to cry and crack a bottle of Jimmie.

Upon reading the post in that link, I now realise why you are worried about drilling the holes in the fairing. Personally, I wouldn't fuck about with laser levels and shuff. Just do a good job of marking it out and drill small holes to start with to ensure that you've got it right before you go taking to your fairing with a 2" hole saw.

I dont see why we just cant find some that fit the thread on the Hyo. You would expect it to be a standard thread size - whats sticking out of the hole shouldnt matter.

Ill look around.

The guys in the Korider post:
http://www.korider.com/forum/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5346&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

say that either the frame slide kits from a Suzuki GS500 or a 1999 - 2002 Suzuki SV650, but then they later say they arent sure if they fit the 250r or 650r. hmmmm. Seing as they are both Suzuki I think a trip down to the local Suzuki dealer with an exposed frame mount would be in order.
