im negotiable on price. waste of a good bike for me, and my crap skills. I only want to do trail rides and may be just a little play on an MX track. with that bike I would injure or kill myself.

good luck with the sale.

Hey John,

Beg borrow and steal anybody elses bike for a ride and see what gives you a hard on and what doesn't!!

Even take a KLX300 for a ride(Spectrum should have a demo). I think they retail for $6,995.00 (don't know what your budget is) for a new 2007/08. Still the same model from a couple of years but well proven and just about indestructable.
Don't be shy in asking anyone of us for a blast on our bikes.

I really like the look of the wr250 or the CRFx more enduro, been told the wr has a bit more snap to it than the Honda.
after doing Desert Storm, which the DR did no problem at all, and I have no trouble throwing it around at the sandpit (woodhill) just want a bike with better handling and a bit more grunt. don't really want an MX bike, and the jury is still out on the DRZs but if someone recons they are worth a look may consider having a serious look at them.

Hes on the right track CRF, WRF and KDX are all great bikes.
The CRF has more useable power, and better handling.
The WRF has a higher peak power and an EXTREMELY reliable engine
The KDX is a typical reliable old 2 stroke-jack of all trades, master of none!
The DRZ Is more suited to a learner or bringing the cows in for milking.
The KLX is a great bike with a good reliability record(apart from something to do with the kick start)and suspention better than the DRZ but not at the level
of the WRF/CRF

hey scott hopefully try and get down your way today, you've got a KX65
on trademe im keen to have a look at, if you still have it.

its one of the reasons why i want to upgrade my bike, i have enough trouble
trying to keep up with the fella on the KLX110, this year i want to move him from the trail class to the 65's.

i had a klx and never had trouble starting it.
cowpoos told how to start it.
full throttle then kick and it started first kick everytime.
the only thing i found witht he klx was finding neutral a few times , a known problem and i think they said they'd made it alot better but i still found it a few times when you didn't want too.

I really rate the KLX300...out standing machine for the money!!
I used them as my toy/work bike of farms for years..and buggered if I could kill the things..strong motors..so reliable!! and they have to be the easiest bike to kick start ever..2 kicks in a frost! 1 kick any other time!!

and I would stay away from drz250's to many issuse's...[if you want to know sepcifics ask]

but if it were my money I would go and buy a WR250 a road legal one! even if I had to stretch my budget to do so...and a KLX300 would be second with out a doubt [you can find the odd second hand road legal one on trademe, etc]

The WRF & CRF seem like the best choice , if you can maintain them..

well guys thanks for all the advice, it has all help make my job alot harder, seams like it comes down to me giving them a test ride to find out which gives me the biggest grin.
Most of my riding is at the sandpit, I love the sand I think it has help improve my riding.
The enduro loops i think they are the blue arrowed tracks my fav. get a good workout on the DR just think if I had a bike that handle better with a bit more punch on the throttle yeah.

@ the moment the WR still at the top of my list

but seams like the KLX300 has snuck in there as well.

not in too much of a rush now, just brought a bike today for the little fella
KX65 cheers Scott.

Thanks again guys

John

i put the bigger header on my klx and dynojet kit and it made heap of difference.
i think i got my header pipe off scott and got my dynojet kit off www.lmc.co.nz
if you do get the klx i got a bash guard made by a kiwi that is pretty good for trail riding.
let me know
Later
