Well, the van is loaded, we're all set, and it's just starting to sink in that we're about to head to the biggest race event of our careers.

I've done a dozen or so club events, and this just feels different, made worse by the fact that I'm sitting at home with squat to do, (other than house work). There are TV cameras and thousands of people watching Paeroa, and I'm just some hillbilly mofo with a moderate of riding ability with asperations of sticking it to the big boys.

Anybody else starting to feel the strain from the magnitude of what they are about to embark on?

Think that's only natural Drew.

I reckon once you are there and are concentrating on what you are doing. Getting the bikes sorted. Gear on. And once you start the bike. You'll both do great...

 Dude and Dudette...Best of luck..:)

Isn't it great that we live somewhere that you can go from the bottom (club racing) straight to the the top (Nationals/Paeroa) without too much trouble.

Can't imagine doing that in anywhere like Aussie, US, or Europe? I guess some people would just say that shows what a poor road racing enviroment we have...but I think it is good.

You guys will be oarsome! Safe travels :sunny:

P.S. I hear not wearing undies makes it easier to slide off the seat.

Don't dwell on stuff too much. Just try to empty your brain and focus when you get there.

Use the opportunity to show those other slow fuckers how fucking fast you are Drew. Look at it as an opportunity rather than a sentence.

Thanks for the awesome words guys, but I've let you all down just now. I, like most, have done some things I'm not proud of, but today the anxiety got the better of me, and I...I..I WASHED MY HONDA!!!

I couldn't help it, I know it's a big ask, but please forgive me. Christ, I even fixed a couple little things on it....

I'm so confused, what does this mean?????:crybaby:

Lissa

if you need a clear head and you are not coping, drop in at the chemist or health food shop and ask for some "Essential Fatty Acids" or Omega3 capsules. Also known as evening primrose oil.

What is this shit ? Usually it's fish oil, flaxseed oil or something high in DHAs. It is not a sedative or a relaxant or a drug.. its just fish or vege oil.

Wot it do ? Take about 8 grams and feel the chill set in. This shit is really good for laying your mind back so it can see and think clearly. It does not colour your perception or make you act differently. It also seems to make your eyes work "better" somehow. The effect is quite difficult to explain and even to detect after you have taken it - you just feel "normal" and "zen" somehow, but you will feel it immediately the next day when it wears off, as the jitters come back.

DISCLAIMER: (CAPS INTENTIONAL) I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS A SMART THING TO TAKE WHEN RACING. I CAN'T SEE WHY NOT, BUT BE IT ON YOUR HEAD.

But its damn good if you are stressed or worried or if you have the jitters, or you have to put up with someone ranting alot lol.

Oh, and have a great race.. We'll be watching ok. Go hard! :headbang:

You'll both be fine. Nerves are good. If you were blase about it there'd probably be a big meeting involving my friend, Mr Pain, and his roadside attractions, the Haybales.

Use the nervous energy to get on the grid early and make sure your fly is done up.

Hay Drew if your really that bored - I've got lawns you can come round and do...

Nothing to be nervous about Drew.
Just over 15,000 spectators ready to critic you each lap, many KB'ers that are also going there just to see you perform, a few hundred haybales that are too close to the high speed racing line and just want to wear you, bad road surface that wants to chew your tyre apart, patches of oil and coolant etc. leaked out on the race line, parts of your bike that come loose, other competitors that want to see you eat hospital food, and don't forget, theres always the weather - it could rain.........

Other than that, I wouldn't be nervous at all!!

Hows ya life insurance policy???

I used it to help with stress. I don't need them now. I was taking 2x2gram caps morning and night. It's weird coming off such a high dose coz ur mind chatters at 200mph. :2guns:
