Not a sausage in the harold this am and a 15 second segment on the TV news. I guess bmx is more newsworthy

Sheesh Frosty ... you're expecting a bit much ain't ya? Come on - it was only event that attracts 15,000+ spectators, closes SH2 and provides a excitement-filled day out for anyone with the slightest interest in motorbikes. Why should it get any coverage at all, especially compared to other earth-shatteringly important news-worthy events; like NZ 200 metre runner James Dolphin coming home from an athletics meeting in Canberra to be with his wife for the birth of their second child (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/4/story.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10493044). It's not like he's actually a very good 200m sprinter; a PB of 20.56 (the world record's 19.32 for comparison) will not even guarantee a place at the Olympics.

Actually - there is something on the Harold. It's here (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/9/story.cfm?c_id=9&objectid=10493123). Not much in the way of words, but there is a photo gallery with some very god pics, in which both the Mair boys are featured ... pulling wheelies, of course.

Granny Harold didnt even publish the results they were provided with, let alone the story they were sent. BUT, they did send a reporter to Manfeild for the NZV8's

What you guys need to do is invent a motorised version of an oval ball sport. Then the media may pay attention.

Perhaps competitors getting pissed in the pub and then going back home to beat the wife/girlfriend up, may help?

Carrying a handbag to the pub and wearing makeup seems to work for some pointy-ball players. The Honda rider's may be able to help here.

There was a minute amount of coverage on Sunday's TV news.

Always been a battle, here in NZ. Must admit I did make the front page of the Wanganui Chronicle with a photo in the mid Seventies !
Anyway, I was going to say I had mates that were sponsored by a radio station years ago and they always got great coverage, in the paper at least and the radio. 2ZM , is that still alive ?
But I must say it helps to be winning and have a sponsor like that ! Gaz.

You expect too much.... How about the promoters actually making it easy for the press by providing media kits and press passes and stuff?

Any of the racers issue a little thing called a press release after they raced? Didn't think so.

Watch this space.
