Ere's a couple of hints for you, lads and laddesses.

1) Don't own a Hum Vee, hummer, whatever they're called - and not put $ into the parking meter. People notice it, parking meter people especially. Hehehe. My vantage point is sometimes entertaining.

2) Don't own a Hummer. The boss (president of the canterbury 4wd club) reckons you can stand on the "go faster" devicetm and watch the MPG readout dive to 1 (MPG). 1 MPG!!!!!!

I asked if they're any good offroad. Apparently not. Asked if they were any good onroad. Nope. So they're ugly, have "bunchofass" fuel economy, don't do anything overly well, cost quite a bit initially (especially the part where you have to get it modded to RHD)? Hmmm.. just like the Yanks to build such a machine.

Good points, although that's what all the other 4WD vehicles seem to be more and more like each year, as they all seem to be on hormones and grow bigger each year.

I think it's Ford in the States that is bringing out a pickup that has a 6 tonne towing capacity (saw it in the AIR New Zealand inflight mag the other week), it's like a mini-rig. Crazy stuff man!

Those who buy one are insecure and think a big car means they will get respect on the road.

As for being ugly, the original is pretty cool but the new H2 looks like they squashed the original at the sides and added a stupid lookin plastic bumper and called it a new car.

I asked if they're any good offroad. Apparently not.I thought, they were the shit for off road stuff. It was purpose built for the US military keeping off road use in mind.

True about civilian use of them in urban/city areas though.

Is this the H1 or the H2?
I too thought the H1 was supposed to be pretty tough for offroad shiznit. Dunno about the H2 though...

H1 was the badass one. The H2 is the Fab-5-ilised H1. The H2 was designed with hollywood in mind, not offroad. If you're a movie star/executive with money coming out of your ass, you can afford the 1mpg, but no-one else can, which makes to perfect cause the riff-raff can't own one!

USA! USA! USA! USA!

The only limiting factor for an H1 off road is it's size,a 2 stroke Suzuki Jimmy will get where the H1 won't get a look in....a quad bike will go where the Suzuki can't....and a trials bike can go where no others dare go! But a bike can't go in deep mud or water, that's 4x4 country.

Don't bring me into this (sniff), I've never said I wanted one. If I had that much money to throw away on a vehicle, I'd rather put it into a collection of Italian bikes ... mmmmmmmmmmm :love2:

According to the boss - it was an H3 (this could be embarrasing considering his club status, if he got it wrong!). Brand Spankers.

As for whether it's any good offroad - i spose the way he measures that could be different than the makers. I don't think it'd be able to go where these fulla's go - sheer size would put a stop to that.

IMHO this thng was never gonna see what lies beyond the tarseal any more than my bike - you should've seen the polished wheels on it! Just a jerk-off toy i suspects. But i didn't see the driver.
