Hi,
I'm looking for the official programs of the World Superbike rounds held at Manfeild in 1988, 89, 90 and 92. I'm collecting roadrace programmes of all roadraces, and have been searching for the Manfeild programmes for years now.
I appreciate any information anyone has of these rounds (maybe there even weren't programms issued, I'm not sure) besides programmes: result sheets, newspapers, etc.
Best regards,
Cor

Best place for that info would be Rob and Wendy Lester who promoted all the world Superbike meetings run at Manfeild. They have since retired to Turangi,However their son Richard runs a Porsche race team out of the Taupo circuit and their grandson Jono is currently racing a Porsche in the Carrera cup in NZ and Australia I think.Best way to contact them would probably be through the Manawatu car club.I have programs for these events but they are not for sale,However Rob and Wendy may well have all the info you need.PM me if you dont have any joy contacting them and I will call in and see them next time Im passing through Turangi and pass on your contact details

They certainly did have them, I still have one from when I rode 250cc production support races in the 1990 event.
Kiwi riders of superbikes included:
Aaron Slight, Andrew Stroud, Paul Pav, Tony Rees, Jason Mc Ewen, Rob Lewis, Brian Bernard, Russel Josiah, Eddie Kattenburg plus others, the superbike field had 14 Kiwi entries and the lap record from 89 was 1.08.17 from Aaron Slight and from memory it was pulled into the 1.07's that year.
250 proddy had the likes of:
Dave Cole, Mike McCutcheon, John Hepburn, Grant Ramage, Steve Bagshaw, Tony Sampson (Bart), Nathan Spargo. 47 riders entered, lap times at the pointy end down in the low 1.16's
Oh the memories....Yokohama 003 250 proddie tyres that cost $270 each and lasted a couple of races if you were lucky, bear in mind this was in 1990, no wonder I was poor, wait a minute I still am poor!
