Hey guys a sad day it was but an awesome send off to a mate, lover/soulmate to Tia and daddy to Mad Max plus best mate of Jaedyn. Thank you all who gathered for the ride in his honour it was amazing to see the turn out and we all realise that it was a hard thing to do to gather at Derek's house and then escort him for his final journey .....everyone did amazing. Thanks must also go to NZ Police for Escort and stopping traffic as we proceeded, they did an awesome job.

Was a very nice service. Id like to say well done to the people who got up and spoke. You did an amazing job of staying strong for Derek.
I wouldnt have been able to do it. Was hard enough listening to all the stories about him.
Was good to meet you Mad Max! Your a great kid.
Rest in Peace mate.

Glad to have joined the club when you were president Derek. We only spoke breifly on a couple occasions but what I gained from your vision of motorcycle racing will always be with me.
In racers heaven you can ride any bike ever made, with an endless supply of the stickiest tyres in the universe and the racetracks are as smooth as glass. Take it easy on Robert Holden.

Derek would have been so proud of the send off he got and to see how many bikes turned up to pay their final respect. The service was truely amazing and for those who got up and spoke at his service i commend u all as it was such a hard thing to do and each and every one of u did it so well. The reving of the bikes at the cemetary while Derek was being lowered was such an amazing thing to see and hear. The memory of Derek will live on forever with so many of us and especially at the up and coming Vic Club race meetings.
