ATvs can not be made legal for public roads, no matter is you put indicators on it
you can get a farm exemption, (eb registration) you are aloud approx 20km from your front gate, as long as you are on farm business, no wof needed, simalr to tractor rego,

Yawn Yawn:sleep:. Heard this all before, because "fuckin shit" heads fucked it up for all. Anyway back to the thread.
I like the way you were thinkin though Kamyk. I was thinking more along the lines of wouldn't be a hoot to put road tyres on a quad and ride to work along the motoway.
Now that would get some reaction!!

saw something about this on one of those knob end car shows, apparently quads are legal on roads in the UK, they did a test ride and found that they were lethal when cornering at normal road speed, esp if you didn't get your arse well and turely off the seating and hanging over the side.
Quads on the road would be a nice target just like the little drag queen pocket bikes.........

I have 2 quads that are road legal in NZ but theres a catch... The law ...
There are 3 classes (Unrestricted, service (EA) or Farm (EB)). After a few calls to LTSA you can rule out unrestricted as they didn't finish the compiance side & it's been put in to the same class as utilities. EB allows you to go from a farm to a neighbors farm. EA is the one you can go 3 km from your home (or trailer) in the event of maintaining or servicing the quad. You are always testing something ...right ?? (you can legally ride on beaches too) Both of my quads have plates & rego stickers $60 a year (no WOF needed)
