Don't forget to say "Totally Awesome!" like the little kid on the trike from "The Incredibles" movie.

Its amazing how little insects have evolved in 100 million years.

I think it's more amazing how quickly they actually got the KISS principle right. Insects are pretty much perfect

It's almost as if someone designed them that way... :dodge::chase::lol:

They had a shitload more time to get it right.

They're just super evolved, super specialised shrimps.

Remember that the next time you eat a crayfish. It's just an under evolved insect.

Yeah.
That's what I said.
Makes me wish I'd kept the images from the electron microprobe session I had back in 1981, instead of giving them back to the yoo-niv-adversity. :(
They were soo kewl too.
Almost totally awesome as well (but we didn't have that back then...)

Thanx for the link, Dr Jim2! :niceone:

From that way of looking at it you could argue that 80% of all animals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthropod) are just over developed shrimps.

Life has had about the same amount of time to get it right - yes, mammals evolved much later than insects but ultimately life started at about the same time...

Too cool... and how did we get such a high concentration of troglodytes here online?

Edit... the original application of technology to find the tiny critters from 100's of millions of years ago then print them out???? Awesome. Wish I had that job.

Do ya think that would work to find all the missing pens or my 12yr olds house keys???? Nah dont think technology has reached that level of perfection yet.

FFS, I wish I'd never posted it.

Why can't God botherers just stick to whining at God?

Technology developed by hirsute French Blokes to print out 3D models of insects = cool.

Using it to prove theory of Evolution when I was trying to indicate a sense of child like wonder at some stuff that I think is cool = uncool. You'll not convert me. I haven't met a compassionate Christian yet.

When the universe prolapsed and happened (we dont know anymore), not when some guy was written about less than 10,000 years ago.
But you are right on the design things, insects were designed perfectly for a while. That why they still live, like humans, fish, plankton, and bacteria that lives in shit.
I've said it before the flaws of:
Creationism - what did he start with? why has it changed?
Evolution - Where did it start from? why hasn't it all changed?
Stuffism is the only way forward, eg stuff happened and now we are here. I don't know anymore than that, and anyone telling your otherwise is full of.....bacteria
Now back to the science thing.
Little bugs in rock cool.......but does that mean the theory of big bugs goes out the window?

Please keep this thread on topic. There is a Religious Ravings thread specifically designed for debate on the beginnings of all things and such related nonsense. Any posts in this thread that wander into that territory will be moved.

The posts that inspired this comment have been deleted or do you just like to rant to invisible adversaries? I like doing the latter myself.

Got to love the Irony of your last comment.

I walk past the CAD and 3D modelling classes at Weltec often and it looks like great fun. They have at the window an F-16 on a stand, a model engine block and an Egyptian bust made from plaster. The CNC machines are incredible. Pity I'm probably not smart enough to do any of it according to NCEA.

Did the Creo's get removed to PD? Why didn't the Evo's.

And I'll give you some fucking compassion Jim.
