PM a senior mod to get the poll options edited mate.

Me, I listen to our local station "Times FM" for the most part. The reason for that is for some strange reason that is all we can get now at home and certainly all that is available at where I work.

Have been known to listen to Hauraki on the weekends, we get the best of the weekdays without the repetitive playlist, though it is totally predicatable what song they will play when they call a Led Zepplin number, that goes for almost all their playlist actually.

Used to listen heaps to Solid Gold when my first marraige fell apart, I used to call it my good feelings station...LOL

Some commercial stations annoy the hell out of me by having so many advertisements you never get music.

Is it just me or has there been a kind of 'time zone/taste' shift across some stations.
Me being a teenager from the 70s I was catered to quite well for a while by AM Radio Hauraki. But lately they have been slipping in 'other' music that I don't like.
Like a conspiracy, at the same time, Solid Gold, whom I laughed at as stupid 60s music or soft 70s music, have upped their game to the likes of Led Zep. and Floyd and co. and seem to be filling the void Hauraki have created?

Though I don't like that shit, I'll continue listening to The Rock. Just switch to Hauraki when it turns to shit, switch back when they turn to shit too, turn the radio off if they've both failed.

Why do both stations insist on playing "Men at Work"?! They have to be the worst band ever!

I prefer listening to my own music. http://www.last.fm/user/crushing_day

I do this too, but add KIX FM into the mix also, no commercials, new and old rock, local Wellington radio station. 88.7

I used to listen to Hauraki and The Rock a heck of a lot when I was a geotech. Now the only time I seem to listen to the radio is when my alarm blares in the morning.

...Second that. A constant parade of talentless whiny emo pop crap during work hours.

Don't know what it's like at night, too busy doing other stuff.

The Axe Attack is good though. Paul Martin's a good bloke.

What?! KIX FM is still around? My Dad was made redundant from there when the station went down hill back in 95. Hadn't heard it has come back.

The Rock at home, car except weekends when usually on sundays switch to Hauraki.

Shit I thought that about Hauraki vs Solid shite, but a week ago a contractor had his radio on solid gold, and was good, better than I thought/remembered,most of the anouncers seemed to have huge egos from living in the past.

OMG: I'm surrounded by bogans!! :headbang:

I listen to all sorts of music, but when it comes to the radio I listen to George FM. They play a lot of kiwi tunes, ads are kept to a minimum and they don't lose the plot with their play-list like the rock, hauraki etc....If I can't get George though, then it's the rock for me :sunny:

commercial radio is junk. I listen to online radio and record it to mp3 and play it in the car.

I had the workshop radio tunes to Coast when I was in Auckland - it's a pity there is no dedicated jazz station, and Coast did a bit of jazz and swing.

Cool Blue was the best radio station ever when it was going - no adds,no DJ,just cool music all day.First to have an online play list too.

Used to only listen to the rock, but they're not as good as they used to be (still bloody good most of the time tho).
Now the radio in the workshop is switched between the Rock and Hauraki when a crap song comes on, or they talk for too long

Radio Live but not by choice!

Reception is poor here and there is a local repeater that beams a couple of stations back down into the valley.

I can only pick up Radio Live, damn it. (talkback is crap) John.
