Well, after getting there, set up, and the first round of races out the way, I was all set to go like hell in the second F2 race. Two warm up laps, bike feels great and I'm ready to rock and roll. Flag drops and I get an uncharacteristicly good launch, lead the pack out of turn one and onto the back straight, (Might not have been infront of the pack now that I think of it, but top three for sure,) half a dozen come past me at half distance of said straight, but I'm primed for a demon braking session......
Demon was right, i was first to the turn, but right when you'd expect a rider to actually tip in, I was leaping off and praying to Alah. As it turned out, the second I touched the brakes, a line that had been rubbing on my tyre decided to let go all together. FUCK, NO BRAKES AT ALL!
As I got off, I went all emu like. Buried my head in the sand something fierce. Shame that, since my head was the first thing to touch the ground, adn it stopped DEAD. Rest of me wasn't playig that game and I had a rather sore neck for my efforts.
Anyhoo, I'm OK, the bike suffered less damage than any other crash I've had, and I now know to run the front fender in future so the lines cant get to the tyre.
Thanks heaps to the marshals and ambulance crew, fantstic stuff I will always be greatfull for.
Race report will be up some time, I've got a new proceedure to wrap my mellon around.

Cripes mate that's no way to win races - glad you're OK to be on here telling us about it :2thumbsup. What would the Hoff had done in such circumstances?

Funny.. we were just talking about whether scrutineering would make a fuss about the missing front fender.

Was pretty scarey when I saw a bike in front of me go flying off the back straight into the dirt at warp factor 'huge', then realising it was YOU in amongst the dust bowl! I thought geeze babe that aint the line you told me to take!! then coming over the hill seeing red and ambo flags waving:doctor:
That horrible heart in mouth feeling. But huge relief that you were looking kind of up when we rode back past.
Big thanks to the marshalls for giving such fast assistance and the ambo's for putting up with his cheek and taking him to hospital, and of course the grid marshalls for coming and keeping me informed when we got back to the grid that Drew was ok and....... for giving me his grid position in the last protwin race :niceone:

I was leaping off and praying to Alah.
Ah, this is your mistake. You need to pray to Allah, Alah is a guy who ownes a pub in Dagenham.

Sounds like the bike decided not to join you. Good thing too or you might have ended up like this guy...

Making an apointment for next week to get medical clearance to race at Taupo in the Vic series on the 25th. I'll get the quack to prescribe a bit of physio on ACCs dime too methinks.

There was no presence of mind love, I watch a solid lookin wall come at me at a speed I was less than happy with, and did what I could to miss it.
Neck is better by the day, how's the toof?

Good to hear neck feeling better and better - the toof is being a nightmare. Seems to be getting more and more painful each day! How the hell does something so small have the power to make you sooo miserable. Honestly I am such SHIT company at the mo...even more than usual actually

One word luff, Codcomol. The best tooth pain relief I found other than Morphine, and you cant buy that with out prescription.
Takes off more than the edge. Most of my tooth pain was from the infection underneath, so being in less pain allowed me to actually brush and mouthwash. It healed up WAY quicker.

Cheers mate. Didn't get time for the "OH SHIT", once I figured out the only possible out come, I rolled off the side.
Bike came away with less damage than any of the off's I had there at round two.
Broken handle bar and the make shift fairings we've been using flew apart. Oh yeah, and it needs a new brake line.
So it'll once again be lookin like a mintah for round 1 of the winter series, see ya there.
Woohoo, just been to the quack, and I'm cleared to race again.
I was a bit worried to be honest, as the form asks the doctor to sign his name that I am medically fit to ride. But there are zero specifics in that at all, I was concerned he would tell me that without a complete medical examination I was not riding. But after surfing the MNZ website with him he decided he could just clear my neck injury and the rest was still my own responsibility.
BRING ON TAUPO!!!

your meant to have your partner trained to go quickly grab ya licence, that way when you soak off your cast you dont have to quickly go get a doctor to squeeze and prod your broken ankle so your allowed to race the rest of the day... i learnt that the hard way :)
