Well I would say R6 because they are so reliable and a real good bike and I Luv Yamahas. Gixer is a bit cheaper but still a good bike. I had a 2000 R6 and it was awesome.:niceone:

yep i agree:yes:
Id get the 06 R6, great handling, great power delivery and reliability.
I guess test ride em both and see which one fits
I rode the k5/6 gixxer and didnt like the ergos. Loved the k7-found it so comfortable for me. Pricewise the k7 gixxer might be heading into your bracket. I toured mine, used it on the track and on road scratching-just great, and no hint of a problem!
From what I have read, the Yammies are more focussed, and need to be revved to get the performance out of them.

k6 is same as k7
you might be talking about k4-k5
Just ride one of each and pick which suits you the most, all fairly simlar in hp, handling, each has there own querks.
You are right cajun-it was a k5 I test rode.

see i perfer the k4/k5(hence reason i keep my k4) vs the k6/k7
Forget about them,buy a CBR. Far more reliable,better looking,excellent finish,cant beat em!

Kinda funny how everyone is telling you to buy whatever they have!
Take both for a good ride and decided for yourself. Im sure they are both good bikes are you would be happy with whatever one you get.

Stop being so nice Marky Mark.... you know you want a Suzuki too :Pokey:

And yet the k15 and k1000 consequently coincided with Cagiva's release of the k646 and caused catastrophic confusion.
Get a GN 250 can't beat the amazing power dilevery of one of them.

General consensus from bike journos is that the R6 is a bit more track focussed while the GSX-R is a better all-rounder (and also a lot more comfortable).
In the end there's not a lot of difference in performance between the 600s (they're all brilliant), so you're pretty safe buying based on whichever one turns you on.

'cos you ride like a spaz and should be on a GN shoe fiddy; except the embarrassments too much so you stay with what you know instead! :Pokey:
Everyone has there own thoughts and opinions.. build your own and ride 'em all. Then you'll soon realise the jappers are shit and euro is where its at

Hey ya!
I have owned a GSXR600 for the past four years (its for sale..2003 $8000, fantastic bike) and can not fault it one bit!! I've done touring, track and commuting on it.
I have recently brought a new R6 as my race bike. I would say a GSXR for a road/all rounder and a R6 for more track focused riding.
PH 027 2223146 to buy an awesom GSXR!! :)

The hot set up is a 1973 Sportster with a kick start. you could wear tassles, and have a Harley Davidson T-shirt.
I jest.
I like the GSXR, but I'd shoot for a 750. The R6 is a better looking bike, but track focused translates to having no torque (well, a small margin more than a Ginny).
Torque equals forward momentum. And wheelstands.
BTW, I own a GSXR1000 so I'm completely biased.

Try both & see which one fits best.I love my R6 & find it really user friendly. Wether its a spirited fang or a trackday, or a 3000k trip round the Norf Isl it does everything well....
I know of an 04R6 that'll be up for sale soon, 25000km, good nick, with packrack, radar detector, otherwise stock apart from slightly modded exhaust for round about 7500 I think...pm me if interested & i can put you in touch

The R6! I owned a 02 R6, have ridden an 04 and a 07. My sister has just bought a K7 gixxer and it just doesn't do it for me!
I'd choose the R6 in a heart beat:first:

Is this even a serious question? buy the gixxer if u want to become 'just another gixxer rider' buy the R6 if you want to stand out in a croud. Meh.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. I'd choose the 675, but I've never ridden one so what do I know:whistle:
