The so called Xmas rush is upon us,not much of a rush this year, although we are working hard to get some jobs out.But I am trying to keep my work load light so we have the ability to cope with emergencies and to keep my regulars happy.Already this morning I've had a customer push his way to the front of my WoF que, then get upset when he failed,I told him to come back tomorrow and we'll fix it then - no,no,I'm going to Australia tomorrow! SO?!!,like, that's MY problem?
I'm stewed from a call I just recieved - he wanted to book a service...no problem,we can do that thursday....''No,I can't bring it in thurs, how about tomorrow?''...um,yeah,we may be able to squeeze you in....''Great,I'll have it there at 8 o'clock''....good,leave it with us for the day and we'll get it done....''Oh no,I can't leave it all day,I want to wait for it''.....well you've left it a bit late in the year for that mate, how about 10th of Jan?....''If that's your attitude I don't want to deal with you!''
At least we haven't had the....''the kids won't get any presents this year because you took all our money''....spare us that one,I don't need the guilt trip.

You're in D'Auckland, Motu. No forward planning, no responsibility - it's all about expediency: I will do it when I want, and no bugger better stop me. This applies to driving and apparently everyhting else.

Might explain all the apparent increase in insults etc in here lately. Good old silly season.

Part of my job is dealing with Passports - you can't imagaine how insulting, rude & obnoxious some people get when they haven't allowed enough time or have stuffed up their application.

Well, I had cause to enquire about the immediate after-hours service a few months ago, Internal Affairs were extremely helpful and there seemed no problem with getting it by teatime when I called at 4pm... (Fortunately someone *else* got to go to Taiwan the next day, so I didn't have to make the appointment after all.)
Can't see why anyone would need to be calling you up and getting all rude when that service is available. :spudwhat:

That would b/c they need to pay more money & they don't want to and also don't want to take responsibility for their own mistake.

Well Motu,, Your griping in the past about your mechanics life has today paid dividens for one of your kind.
I had to drop my truck of at my local repair garage yesterday in a no go state.
The guy had it sorted out for me within 12 hours, and even rang to let me know he had left it there for me to pick up after hours.
The Truck was running great today, so, thinking of Motu, I made time to go and tell him how much I Appreciated his effort.
He tried to say it was no worries, but I saw a "Soft Motu" twinkle of satisfaction in his eye.
Yes,, The world, it is a changin :niceone:
