Does anyone know a way to fix the old spark ignitor units fitted to the early DOHC Honda CB750 and 900F's. These have pitch which seems to melt after a long period of time. I am told that once the pitch starts to melt the units are stuffed, but I cant see why they cant have more pitch or a modern alternative put back in. Anyone out there tried this before?

Come again?
Um I think whoever told you that gem was referring to the components inside destroying themselves. The pitch is of course irrelevant. Buy a aftermarket (ERD I think) or 2nd hand one.

Hmmm i've owned a DOHC CB750 for 18 years and haven't heard of this. Here's a good support site-http://www.cb1100f.net/
