Price Check: Kawasaki KR150 2000

Hi, I can upload some pics in a day or two but I'm trying to find out a ballpark figure for a KR150 A-Model. It has done 25,000 KM and is in reasonably good condition.

Any ideas?

At 25000Kms a KR150 is about due for a new piston kit. Not a hard job, and kits can be got (overseas) for about $95.

If yours had a piston kit done and was in good condition, $2000 is about top dollar for one these days.

Good condition, 25000kms on the piston, $1500 might be closer to it's value.

Peoples are looking for small motorbikes at the moment with fuel costs as they are.

and from your Trademe question, Yes I can get new KR150a parts new from overseas at cheaper than NZ prices.

My 2001 KR150 had done over 45000k's with no work done to the engine whatsoever when I sold it. It was stolen from the guy who bought it from me 2 weeks after he got it so I dont know how long it went for. However, like RR say's you shouild definately invest in new piston and rings etc... They're are a really cool lil bike. I dont reckon you'd regret buying it. Just dont forget - 2 smokers sometimes blow up.... :whistle:

This was involved in a crash - the front suspension and stuff has had it. I'm not sure if the frame is OK or not but assuming the bike is worth around $1500 is it worth fixing? Or would it be better off to sell it for parts?

If it needs a major fix up, then it's not worth it.

I would normally pay $500 for something like that, 'as is' for the lot.

You could get more by selling it as individual parts, but theres not a great demand for them.
