Gloucester Motors of course - that's where the motorcycle evenings have been held on Wednesday night (in lieu of the Wed nite cruisy rides).
Wayne is the guy to see there ...
332 Gloucester Street.

I found the quick WOF place by Eastgate real good. You can't book but there is usually no wait and I think it was $25 from memory.

I used to take mine to sockburn VTNZ when i was in chch. The guy there seemed quite knowledgable about bikes and seemed like a good sort. My bike flew through no worries. However, my friends bike who was also getting a warrant failed on wheel bearings. I dont even know how they knew, he jsut spun the wheel and failed it. Anyway, later on, checked the bearings and sure enough they were pretty buggered. felt fine to me so i was quite impressed.

I go to the place diagonally across the road from Radical Customs and Choppers.
Don't know where the eastgate place is -- haven't noticed it in my travels
but
Glouster motors is the place to go. Karla forgot to say Wayne is a Kber too!

And he now has the shirt to prove it.
Besides being a bloody good mechanic he has helped out a lot of KB'ers, providing a place and tools to tinker. And he's been patient, riding slowly in front of me to help me get my confidence out on the road.
Am I biased? Yes  But I wouldn't recommend him if I didn't think he was good. He has kept my van going for nine years on the smell of an oily rag, and given it about 18 warrants in that time. Hmmm .... I should have shares in the garage!

Just like Randy. I go to VTNZ Sockburn.
$32 which is more than I pay for my car WOF , which I get elsewhere. But I've never had to wait! They arn't too fussy either.
Edit: In my experience places that sell tyres and new fork seals are too picky, so I avoid them.

I got spanked for about 6 things at VTNZ sockburn, never gone back friends in the area are the same. One of them took his FXR150 got done on wheel bearings at sockburn, took it into cycletreads for a quick look because he couldn't feel a thing. They checked it said they're 100% fine, changed 'em anyhow to keep the place happy and off he went, not to return to sockburn.
My GSXR750 that got done on numerous things I sorted out, discussed a couple of other things with Oyster on KB who maintains bikes day in day out. Took it to wairakei rd guys, seemed good and legit ran it through the tests and was on my way. :)
RG150 got its warrent no worries the other weekend there too.
