Bump

Come on all you guys (& girls) who own semi classics. This is a good opportunity to show off your rides to peeps that share the same appreciation of real motorcycles that are still regularly ridden (rather than locked up in garages). I am looking forward to seeing what you have... even Katmans Katana.. (which I used to lust after when they first came out).:2thumbsup PM Psyguy or myself with your contact numbers and we'll get in touch to sort out a meeting place and time that works for all.

79 CBX1000, Performance Machine brakes, forks, one off swingarm, candy red with black stripe, pair of Kerkers, one off billet wheels. She gets ridden like my beloved wife. The gixer gets ridden like my dirty mistress. :spanking:

No worries, I need to sort out a new back brake seal, for some reason the fluid has vanished since I last rode her. Also, need to fix a leaky o-ring on the fuel tap. Old bikes eh.

WHAT: Blast to the Past Ride - "BTPR" (bikes from mid-'70s to mid-'80s)

WHEN: Saturday, 28th June '08 (in case of a really bad weather, alternative date: Sat, 5th July '08)

TIME: 11am (it's winter...)

WHERE: to be anounced (most likely west or north akl, still looking into it)

ROUTE: to be anounced (most likely the backroads of the west/north akl)

DURATION: to be anounced (i'm thinking 2-3 hrs should be good for a first meet)

WEATHER: In case of heavy rain forecast the ride will be postponed for a week. I'll post the details of any change here a couple of hours before the ride so everyone is up-dated.

Actually it's two hours I just realised, so I may try and work out a direct (fast) route to get to some place before you lot. Nothing like clearing that post-exam brain-feck with a good punt.

Funny, last night I dreamed I'd bought an early CB750F1 Supersport. The electrics were fucked though  Clearly, my subconscious is enthusiastic about this haha.

Quick work, very impressive.

By the way, might need a hand before the ride on 28th with my back wheel as I think it is a bit out of alignment. Would be good to get another set of eyes to check. Very technical here .

thats still the plan

but as mentioned, i will have to make the final decision in the morning so look for the updates to the calendar

it's a tough call though, given the crazy akl weather - was pouring this morning and even had a few thunder-hail-storms, then cleared up to the point where the roads were DRY and the sun came out, and then it started all over again
