It seems that recently i have been noticing posts from a certain few members appear to be making me dumber every time i read them .....
hence i have been adding to my ignore list.

How many people on your ignore list?

Why doesn't 20+ have something like 'mine is the only opinion that counts' just like 0 doesn't have 'I'm tolerant of idiots'?

Yes I agree - don't use the ignore function at all. Sometimes it is aggravating but it all adds up to making KB what it is :blank:

As Nodrog says sometimes the actions and reactions are really damned funny (when you are not involved!)

Only a few. Mainly because I haven't seen a good post from any of them yet - and what I have seen have been either crap or hateful.

I wouldn't put anyone on ignore just because they either a) annoy me, b) have nothing positive to contribute or c) are idiots. But if 90% of their posts fits both a), b) and c) it's really a no-brainer. Life's just too short.

It is a handy function when you really know you can not help but respond to the purile, obnoxious, opinionated, idiotic, banal, trolling tripe that some people pass off as worthwhile contributions to a thread. Also, if you are being baited on the forum and Pm'd by said contributors, because you were foolish enough to respond, it allows some respite.

I have used it a couple of times with great sucess, and have never bothered to look at the posts marked "this post is hidden as the user is on your ignore list" or whatever it says warning on threads.

Currently none on my ignore list. I love reading the shit that I see posted on here, specially the stuff from the plonkers! :done:

I agree mate! Disagreeing is easy to take, we are all entitled to our oppion. I understand there are pills to avoid hurt feelings available somewhere, if you cant cope with it. However, factor into that the person that follows you around the forums making crap, inflamatory comments, who dredges up old posts of your and red reps them with really weird comments, best of all the ranter nutters that PM you 3 times in one night, as late as 3am even, so you get the messages when you log on. Short of hunting them down and explaining a few things to them in person (I dont condone violence) to make them go away out of your life the ignore function is awesome!
