Well, the ol' girl is for sale. $750 means a good deal for one lucky kber.

Its a GN250, air cooled single, not much else to say really.

Rego is on hold and the warrant lapsed last month (hence the low price), due to work and other expenses, i don't have the time to go and get either. Had it looked over by a WOF inspector (My ma is teh manager of VTNZ KOOMEOO) and its all good. No apparant reason for it to fail.

Recent work done:

new chain and sprockets (o ring chain, one tooth larger front. Have a stock sprocket that has never been used in original size that will come free with the bike)

4 new valve seals (was leaking oil through number 2 exhaust valve stem seal)

New cylinder head gasket

2 new exhaust valves (one was chipped so i replace both, genuine suzuki parts too)

Oil and filter, runs on castrol GTX 20/50, regular oil changes every 4000km for the duration of my ownership (last two years).

New clutch cable (old one was starting to crack the cover)

New front fork seals (old ones were yuckies)

New Rear brake shoes (old ones were wearing a bit thin)

New rear wheel bearings (old ones were going clunk)

Not so recent work done:

Cylinder hone and piston rings (bout 3000 km ago)

Cylinder head port clean up (carbide bit used to remove casting flaws in the ports, made her run a tad better)

New handle bars (straight bars, ape hangers aren't my thing)

New exhaust (slashcut shorty pipe, removable baffle)

New clutch lever assembly, old one had no mirror mountings.

New emgo mirrors, old ones were starting to rust

Matte bleck paint job and GNR decals

Any questions feel free to ask, Bike is in glendene and i would prefer a pickup.

SIDE NOTE: Tires have a fair amount of tread left in them, but they are cheapie cheng shin like things. A set of Pirelli City Demons or Metzler ME's would be a good idea.

EDIT: Quick search reveals that Metzler Lasertecs are available in sizes for these wheel sizes :)

more notes:

Gn400 wheels, forks and swing arm.

Cross drilled front rotor.

Last Note: I have the RHS cover, made from fibreglass by one of the helpfull folk here on KB. Its primed and ready to paint, ill squirt it matte bleck like the rest of the bike this weekend and bung it on.

I have a LHS cover, but its a tad manky. Needs a sand, coat of primer and then paint

Already got my self a GN but new member in SMC is looking for his bike.

Btw how much was your exhaust? looks nice!!!

And how is the different sprockets? I want higher gearing but not sure how badly its gonna affect the accerelation of it...

At last where did you get GN400 parts??

I want GN400 engine

Exhaust was $80 from motomail.

I have one tooth larger front, if you don't mind keeping the revs up around town a bit then its not a problem at all.

Dodgy uncle of mine.

No you don't, they suck. DR350 engine will fit though, they don't suck as bad and are easier to find

$80 from motomail!? I don't think I saw an exaust in motomail at all when I went there...

Can I just buy your exhaust and swap with my standard one? (its chinese one so ofcource with full of rust):p

Isn't larger Front means high geared? Less accerelation but higher MAX speed? I hate to keep higher revs in corner after stopped at lights and sitting in 100km at 6500revs(was it 6500? 7k?) so thats why I want higher gearing...

I'm not serious about engine swaps. I'm not planning to do that much with this GN, I might go overseas next year.

But yea, please let me know about exhaust. I want to check it out.

Cheers

No, you can't have my exhaust :P

16 tooth front brings 100km/h down to about 5500rpm

Motomail have exhausts, ask at the counter, they order them in from emgo.

@ the lass asking about viewing, whats your email address?

Meh GNs only go up to 8500rpm but still it revs higher than Nissan RB26 tho lol

3000-4000 is the best sounding spot on this engine.
