We went through there about half hour before then.... There were ALOT of bikers on the road.

I left and came around SH2 to get home, so i suppose everyone else ended up coming the long way around as well?

...yeah I saw that article too (RIP rider and car driver).

...as we know, the thing with the news-makers is that they're quite indiscriminate who and what they film - that guy shown in that tv article, could just've been some random dude riding past that stopped as opposed to someone accompanying the rider killed.

Either way, RIP, and my thoughts go to friends, families of those involved.

There sure was ALOT of bikes on the road today. I was in my driveway working on my car and I lost count of how many large groups + single riders went passed, nearly all cruisers too! Something to do with finally having some better weather on a weekend I'd say. (One day before I get my bike too  but that's enough venting from me)

Not a nice way for the weekend to end :(

Sure were plenty of bikes out - did return trip to hamilton this afternoon and there were lotsa riders on the road. Always terrible to hear that not every one makes it home safely. Thoughts with both sets of families involved - bike and car. :( Plenty of yellow and blues out too, and also saw two ambulances (one going somewhere in a hurry heading north).

I was going through there with an accomplice and heard the fire station sirens spooling up as we went through kawakawa, millions of bikes out. Figured it was the herd of fukn gixxers we came acros round a corner on the wrong side of the road in a short straight further up.. about 3 deep :/?? wtf. Being tossers through the cagers (i'm saying that hypocritically - we all have every now and then) but they looked a little too naughty for their own good ah well.
Tyre shredding fun for all and a good blast i've been missing and ain't done for a while ^_^

East Auckland ride was fine I believe... barely recognised a single face tho (bunch of newbies )... pyrocam you nonce, you didn't see me did you?

RIP for the guys... can't figure out where this was, as reports are conflicting, but roundabout seemed fine probably around 5-6ish I think, when we came back through via another route.

This latest incident has affected me greatly. I have been thinking for some time to get another bike. A Bonnie to be exact, to commute on, and to take the kids for rides on and the odd weeked away. I own a sports bike, but am to tempted to wind it on , so wanted some thing a bit more conservative. This accident has caused me a big rethink....just unbelivable.

Sure were plenty of bikes out - did return trip to hamilton this afternoon and there were lotsa riders on the road.

The Ulysses Club had a big gathering in Taupo, on Saturday. Most of us stayed the night and left Sunday, and you would have seen many bikes going through Hamilton and Auckland.

The gathering was our annual Ulysses Club Remembrance Run which included a service to honour those who have passed away. I do not know if the rider who died was a Ulysses member. It is always sad and upsetting to hear such news, whoever the rider is.
