Wellington police are looking for two men who threatened to stab another man if he did not hand over his box of Tui beer.


Detective Sergeant Damian Murphy, of Wellington police, said the man was approached by the duo as he left the Mill liquor store on Walter Street about 5.50pm on Tuesday.

The pair threatened to stab him if he did not give them his box of beer.

But he called out to a member of the public and the offenders fled empty-handed.

Police said they would like to hear from anyone who saw the offenders, a Caucasian and a Maori or Pacific Island, both aged 15-20.
