Now all you need is a Tiger or 990 or 1200GS and you'll have a full set :niceone:

Ooooh, nice one Marks.
Thanks Deano

The DT230 will still get used by my younger son as a trail bike and my older son as an occaisonal adv bike and by me for things like the CCA - so it wont become unloved :)

I suspect that no matter what you did you wouldnt get the dr to be as relaxing doing bigish road miles as the klr - the klr is simply 'more roady'

our family has brought 7 bikes and 1 car off trade me in the last 2 years - all have been exactly as described. I certainly intend to try and put lots of km's on the KLR :)

The greater the HP - the faster I go - the shorter my lifespan will be - hence a lethargic klr is a sensible choice :)

Will we see it next weekend? It had better fit on the trailer - I still want the option of trailering. If I can get some non girly tires on it this week I will bring it - you'll hear me long before you see me.....

Great you are a keen man Mark and it wasn't this one http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=80291 you bought so seems there are a few around now.

I'm sure you'll keep having fun and post us even more stories while the rest of us wished we had the time you seem to have.

Glad to see yet another around. Are you going to keep the jardine can on it (with or without some sort of noise restrictor)?
I've got a Micron (Ex James Deuce Kawasaki 750) that I am trying to get to fit - its a fraction of the weight of the standard muffler.

And Oxford heated grips are a well spent $115

I'll keep the can - it may make my ears bleed and fail wof's but I like it

Ordered the heated grips this morning (will order crash bars tomorrow)

Had a local bike shop grease everything today. Steering head and swingarm were dry and others weren't much better....

Are those radiator shrouds part of the fuel tank?
ie. are they full of fuel?

They're thin light plastic shroud things, not full of anything.

If there's air in the cracks then it should make it lighter.
