We will probably go up on the friday... and then back to Dunedin and the toy run for a day trip and back to the site in the afternoon... :)
Well that's what we did last year anyway... :) Last year there was probably only 30 of us on friday night :) Pub just up the road... :D

Got there Friday afternoon, and apart that godamm wind, it was a lovely ride.....Soon as you go through otemata, the scenery takes a dramatic change the Dam there is amazing, and was very blue on passing through it on the afternoon, and the craggy rock formation that was on my right was spectacular, I really like that route.
Got to the rally site, and got met by the Lovely Jo, who tells me she has been doing the rallies for years, what a nice lady she is too.
Had a yarn to the organisers, and felt compelled to go to the Pub, where there was a karaoke, sang Ben e King's Standy By Me, The Eagles Hotel California and had to sing it with someone else,:argh:then made a mess of Roberts Plant Addicted to Love, don't have the voice range for that song at all:crybaby: but fnished it,,,,,,luckily the dudes there were unforgiving.
Wandered back to the site to drink Tea by the fire, which was lush, till I couldnt stand up anymoreand went to bed, listening to the ukebox, banging out folks favourites, infact I think Iwent to sleep when it was still going!!!
Saturday saw 3 mates and I whizz into Ommers to distribute some posters to the coupleof bike shops there, we had Lunch, which was in a fab little pub, then bought some booze and got stuck into it back on the site. It was warm sunny and the perfect afternoon.
Won a beer in the pogo competition, then me and Mandy from Gore, beat the lads times in the saw the ommers stone competetion.
The voicepiece was so funny, he wouldn't shut up until some more guys got up and eventually beat our time.........that was really funny, don't think he wanted a chick team to beat the guys..........
IDB finally got there, by which time, I was pretty lathered, but we had a real hoot, and he is my favourtie triumph accessory!!
There was a young lad who got up and did some rock songs on his guitar and sung along to him, he was fab, trying to get his ma to being him to the Garston Rally.
Got rid of shitload more posters, danced and chatted the night away. A cute little doggie was wandering around, so dressed him up in the tinsel that I borrowed from Dale and he ran around the fires very festivly.......:killingme
IDB and I didnt surface till 11,00 then chilled out in the sun, we cooked up a fab breaky and took the slow road home, stopping for beers all the way which was sumptious, what a great way to end a rally, finally got in at 730 pm, good effort eh!!
Went to work all flat today, which is the way I always get after a rally nowadays rally...
And that as they say is it.
Well done to the organisers a fun rally and met more new folk and had a ball.

Last year we went up the Long Drop on the Friday, and Came down to do the toy run as a day trip, then back up afterwards. This year I decided to do the toy run on the Saturday and then shoot up to the Long Drop...
The toy run had a real good turn out and I would hazard a guess a the numbers. Since Xaria couldn't go this year due to medical reasons, she had put sparkly tassles on the shoulder pads of my jacket, (Tassles those aren't tassles, these are tassles) and sparkly stuff on my boots as well as more sparkly stuff on my bike... So I got my Buh Humbug hat and taped it to my helmet.
In the Octagon i caught up with Al, and he was heading up as well, so rode the road with Al... Did a quick fuel stop in Palmerston, which would get me enough to get to Duntroon and back to Oamaru for fuel on the way back on Sunday Since Duntroon no longer has a gas pump. We continued up and turned off to go through Weston.
Into the site and set up camp, and Woodbee hands me a beer.. the begining of the end for me... I had plans to wounder up to the pub but they didn't eventuate so I crack open another Woodstock and before I knew it I was watch boobies on stage and then some one saying well I am off to my cot because its 3am... :wtf: where did the rest go to...
Back to my tent around 4:30 (so I am told) and knocking on my tent door, Hi honey I'm home... no answer, oh yeah she not there, so I thumble with the tent and start to swear and curse, and just make it insdie in time... because the next think I hear was Al leaving at 6:00 :wtf: I sleep intill around 9 - 9:30 and haul sorry arse out to be greeted with another great day... Wonder over to the coffee lady... the only word I could say was Coffee...
"Flat white, lattie or long black...etc etc etc? " my answer "coffee..."
"Sugar, milk?" my answer "coffee..."
"Large medium or small?... my answer "coffee..."
Anyway I think it was a large flat white with two sugars... strangly enough she knew exactly waht I was after in between my grunts and moans and the old terminology "coffee..."
With my brain now in gear and operating at at least 10% it was decided to start slowly packing up and go to Oamaru for some food and fuel with Solly and Kay. We had a pleasant cruise and I was need something to eat by time we got there. Refueled and ready to go we were off again with a planned short breeak in Palmerston...
We were in a group of traffic that was flowing nicely. Most of the traffic was good but there was one vehicle and maroon VW that started to tail gate, but didn't over take me... and was annoying. So I over took the car ahead, and I could see the VW tail gate the following car, and then over take it... the words "Shit Fuck" came to mind...
I then the said fuck it... and waited for a clear spot over took the three cars ahead and put some space between me and idjoit number 1...
Solly caught out with me and we rode to Palmy with no other sight from VW idjoit No. 1 untill we pulled up into Palmy where I took him why I disappear and he basically said "Thought thats wahat it was.."
In Palmy we told Kay to go ahead and we will catch up, we waited for a couple of minutes and the rode after her but not at any spiecal pace. We saw her ahead just as we got to the Kilmog, and then I thought cool we will catch her before the road works etc.
However our plan backfired there, she got through the road works and we didn't the lights turn red and we saw her take off as we pulled up. Another 5minute wait and we were off again. With out doing a spirited chase I thought we probably wouldn't catch her now till Dunedin, which was ok, and I was right Kay had pulled over just at the begining of the one way. I got there first and Solly was 30 Seconds behind me. Kay was wondering where we were, till we said we had you at the road works but got caught at the lights...
Over all I had a blast of a weekend, was a good to catch up with old friends a couple I haven't seen for a while, make new ones... Will see you at the next.
