Did anyone feel that??
11.30 ish a huge quake rocked the Bay.
It woke me up.
Lots of rattling, shaking, set off burglar alarms and all the dogs in creation! Bits of plaster fell down from the ceiling but no other damage, for us at least.
Was surely the biggest one I have felt.
Can't find any info on it....

House started dancing, but strangely nothing broken!

Went to the beach waiting for the tidalwave, but returned dissappointed.

Here:

A strong earthquake has jolted the Hawke's Bay region.

The quake, which happened about 11.30pm, was 5.5 Richter magnitude, 37km deep and centred 50km from Napier, Newstalk ZB reported.

A Hastings police spokeswoman said the quake was one strong jolt which set off fire alarms in the town.

There are no reports of injuries or damage.

That one didn't sound like fun at all. How does MSTRS think it compared to the 1931 one?

Yeah I felt it! :D First one since I've been back too! I was sitting on the sofa talking to Mum's friend, house started shaking and we both sat there like "uhh earthquake" - then it got worse and I went straight to the door frame. Poor French kid nearly shat himself. He didn't know what to do!

All the photos fell over, Cd's and Dvd's scattered everywhere and a couple of frames came off the wall. Thats all I saw and went "oh crap" :D

It pretty well was centred under my house! Sure felt like it.
Well our area was right where it was at.
Biggest quake I've ever felt.
But as said it was centred right where I am, so might'nt of been as bad in town.
Books all fell off shelves.
MYSKY box was hanging off the telly.
Was dark when I went to work this morn so have'nt checked elsewhere.

The missus will be home early today so she's going to check around the place.

Crazy shit , H was googling shit on sunday and showed me a screen that showed all the quakes in the last week around the pacific and it showed a line coming down the plates toward NZ but none in NZ, *i laughed and said looks like they moving down this way, see if you can get it to show in sequence, first through to the last one ! Be funny if you could predict them like that* and wham the earth moved for you guys ! wooooo
