i'm looking at the n84 but i think most nolans use the same system.

Anyone owners have opinions on the comfort of the strap?

I haven't worn it in anger yet but it's a little weird having the hard plastic bit and the other buckles etc positioned where they are (pretty much right on teh adams apple). I've adjusted stuff around but the padded part doesn't reach far enough around (due to my large head I suppose). I'm more used to having the seatbeat type material in that part.... Other than that the helmet is very comfortable

Is it something you get used too? do others fashion there own padding?

i had a 102 and i never had any comfort issues, i actually miss the clip system, so much easier than the d-rings on the agv

I have a 103 and like the clip system. I find it comfortable and easier to tighten or loosen a notch while wearing it - can't really do that with the D-rings. I guess I don't have the oversized head - the padding reaches far enough for me.

I've always been a fan of double Ds, and motorcycle helmet straps are no exception.

I had a Nolan for a few years and felt that the ratchet strap system (I assume that's what we are talking about) was bloody brilliant. You were able to adjust it for the best fit for firmness/comfort. And the quick release was devine! I never had it let go on me unexpectedly..

It's a "me too" from the Grub (N102). I always have trouble doing up D-rings, never with the Nolan, no matter how many winter gloves and liners.

It also stays as tight as you set it with different combos of scarf/ balaclava/neckwarmer. Just thinking ... the padded flaps that go between skin and clip haven't got tucked away in the helmet have they?

no, they just don't meet in the middle (they aren't long enough) so the bits and bobs sit directly on what is obviously my oversensitive skin :). I'll go back into the shop today and check some of the others and have a chat to the dudes.
