Your on your motorbike riding along with a pillon on the back. Look in your mirror and see some punk ass teen, in his early 20's with his hat sideways glasses and looking like a right tosser, driving his car about 6 feet off the back of your bike. You pull over the left to let him pass. Look at him and shake your fist as he drives past meaning "what the fu@k are you doing?". Next thing you know he swerves across at you missing you by mare centimeters and making you swerve as well. You yell and him and signal for him to pull over. You pull over hes in front of you in his car. You hop of your bike. He jumps out of the car holding up his pants and yells "You wanna go c@nt" proceeding towards you.
Next part is up to you ...

Anyone starting a conversation with the following "Wanna have a go?", "you want a piece of me?", "What are you lookin' at?" isn't likely to see reason. Glaswegian instinct upon someone being stupid enough to voice their intentions in this way should receive a pre-emptive attack where the front of your helmet connects with the bridge of their nose.
Then you kick him in the stones and stamp in his legs once he's down THEN you ride off on your bike.
However I would never gesticulate (shake my fist) in the first place. Using gestures and/or your horn is just asking for trouble. Cars are bigger, harder and a lot more deadly than bikes eh?
When I get cut up by a motorist I just try to find another route.

Only throw his keys away AFTER scraping them alongside the entire length of his car.

How is he a threat if he needs to hold his pants up...simple...get him to raise his fists, his pants fall down....you turn and run, he runs and trips onto his face...a little known Samuri trick when their swords were banned...do nothing and still win the bout...

A) deal with it when it happens.........get over it.
However i will ignore your whole bullshit story of how you own the road and go to the end.
BLAH BLAH BLAH.......young punk walks up to you and say "Wanna go"....what do you do?
Tell him what your issue is, if he throws a punch - duck and deck him. Go to court, do periodic detention.........

Darwin had some good ideas, just make sure your the fittest.
So, following the words "wanna go cunt", you can assume hes on drugs and that your the fittest. But dont forget P, i hear people on P dont go down so easy.
Or you could be modern about this, give him a chance to redeem himself, and explain to him that you didnt apreachete his tail gateing. (gating?)
Then you could file a complaint at the cops about him.

I voted to drop him.
However, I would not have waved my first at him as he went past as its only going to anger the car driver and your very vulnerable to their actions. You have to remember that even though he did something to piss you off, you need to keep your thoughts to yourself and just bite your lip!
But as mentioned above, if he had gotten out of his car then its likely he had already made up his mind he was going to do something foolish...so you may aswell do it first lol...

So what did you do with this teen who's in his twenties?
I second this question
Personally I would have told him why he saw me waving my fist, then if he still wanted to "have a go" after all of that then I guess i'd be forced to defend myself, after he'd already tried to kill me with his car.Followed very closely with a phone call.

So what did you do with this teen who's in his twenties?
Well, I was the pillion in this event.
It wasn't really a shake of the fist as such. More just a unfriendly wave. You know the one. Its not like we flipped him the bird.
Secondly. I just stood next to the bike making sure he wasn't going to attack the bike. Also incase my mate got the beat down I was there to "assisst". Basically he ran over and did like a flying kick into my mate. Mate caught his leg and put him down on the grass. Then basically pinned him down on the grass and yelled shit like "What the f@ck is your problem" "You could have killed us" "You idiot". His excuse was if he wasn't home in 2 minutes the cops would be on his ass. Turns out he had a home detention braclet on his ankle and he was running late. Once he figured he was screwed he basically turned into a little cat saying sorry and all those sorts of things.
In hind sight we should of got his number plate and phoned the cops. But you know how it is when someone trys to run you down.

So im still wondering why you both didnt give him a bloody good slapping.
Little pricks with attitudes annoy me to the max and i definately agree with "user pays " if you know what i mean.
Damaging his car makes you a vandal and thats silly but defending yourself with a damm good defence is never illegal if its with good intentions and not with malice.
Ohh and then call the cops to sort the ankle braclet wearing pissant out.

it was all over rover as soon as the bike and car were pulled over. If someone comes at you like that - I believe in getting in first / fast and hard.
Having said that - there can be a price to be paid - you may end up getting hurt because hes better than you or you win the battle but lose the war because you are in the wrong and would be considered the instigator in a court of law.
Trust me - its not worth it. Says me with GBH charge for the same thing that almost cost me my job years later when work wanted to transfer me to the US.
Its simply not worth getting in the situation. But IF you end up there - drop the fucker before he opens his mouth.

While you had him pinned down the cops should of been involved, due to being on home detention an offence such as dangerous driving then an unprovocked attack on you guys (your word against his) let me see who do I believe, would of been enough to send him to jail pretty much immediatley as well. Never feel sorry for a shit bag crim as thats how they get away with there shit, his attitudes not going to change and next time the person might not be so lucky.

I applaud your restraint and I can't help but think, why did you let him go?
Road rage, careless use, perhaps dangerous use AND he assaulted you, taking a flying kick at you, the fact that it didn't have the intended effect is irrelevant.
In my view the only appropriate response is to beat him vigourously, and then hold him pending the arrival of the police. Preferably in a very uncomfortable position, guaranteed to induce significant amounts of pain.
Even if they decide not to charge the little scum, you will know that he got his just reward for his actions, a damn good beating. There is a tiny chance that this might have made him reconsider his actions in future, not much, but more than letting the little fucktard off with a snivelling apology.

Mate caught his leg and put him down on the grass. Then basically pinned him down on the grass and yelled shit like "What the f@ck is your problem" "You could have killed us" "You idiot".
That was a good start.
Once he found out he "had to be home in like 2 minutes", the pinning down on the grass could have easily been extended for a little while....

My vote would have been hold the fooker there and awaited the cops, especially once you learned of his home detention thingy but it's easy with hindsight innit, not always thinking logically when someones just tried to wipe you up and then done a Bruce Lee on ya. I think you showed admirable restraint.

Well, you'd have about buggered yourself then. You're not likely to get on the bike and ride away without a shove, which might put you over... You're not going to reason with any wigger like that, so you're only left with one option.
Strike first, strike hard... Kick him square in the nuts, or push his nose bone into his brain with an open palm strike to the face. Once you get him on the ground, keep battering him (either with kicks, gloved punches) till he looks like he's going to give up. Once he's in submission, use your helmet to batter him till blood runs from his mouth, nose and ears.
Then drive over him in his car.

I wouldn't have gesticulated, or put my high beam on, or attacked a wing mirror. I would have just waved him past at the first convenient time and let him go on his merry way. It's just not worth the potential risk of death to rark up other road users when you are vulnerable on 2 wheels while they are in a cage.
It is only IF it got to the point where we were both stopped and he got out of the car and was trying to attack me that I would have responded with whatever level of violence I was able to bring to bear - :kick::girlfight::bash::2guns::ar15::finger: :argue:

Gee I think I am the only female offering an opinion and that is the same as most have said already.
You are past the point of no return, you could try reasoning but that would depend on the size of him compared to you...I voted to deck him.
I had a road rage incident not so long ago and if I had kept my temper and not given the guy the bird I might not have had to ride off in fear for my life...
But that said... there is a time when getting the first shot in works wonders. My ex was riding along minding his own business ( just around the corner from home ) when a car with 3 dickheads in it thought it would be funny to try and force him off the road. BIG mistake. They had to stop at the next intersection and J pulled up beside them, didn't even get off his bike, just turned and smashed his fist thru the drivers window actually connecting with the drivers head. The 2 passengers uttered very un-macho squeals and jumped out of the car, taking off down the road...the driver didn't move as J calmly put the bike into gear and took off.
He reckoned he was so angry at the time that he didn't feel a thing but by the end of the day his hand was blacknblue! and bloody sore LOL. I'll bet those dudes thought twice about fucking with a bad-ass biker again...Not that I'm condoning violence but sometimes A-holes need to be taught a lesson.

A polite wave back usually always works for me when some knob is tailgating me. Either when I'm on the bike or in the cage.
If push came to shove I'm not sure what I would do but I'm not going to lie down and roll over, that's for certain.
Then there's the "merging lane undertaker" that I will not tolerate. They just don't have a clue WTF they are doing because they are such crap drivers. It just doesn't occur to them that they are knob-end, cellphone texting, road users.

Lot of Macho Buillshit in this thread, the gentleman in question was obviously having a bad day and with an attitude like his is likely to get his arse kicked regularly.
I guess when he came out if his vehicle screaming it would be time to deal with it but one thing I recall from my wild youth is if you fight you will probably get hurt so the object is to avoid violence if possible. I must admit though to carrying a rolled up timing chain in the pocket of my leather when I was a teenager and the shock on the face of a driver who odjected to me lane splitting and tried to crush me against the neighbouring car, timing chain versus windscreen..... I'll leave the rest to your imagination

I would like to think that I wouldn't get myself into a situation like this.
Yeah right . I had a similar situation a couple of years ago, in my car stopped at lights when prat behind me wanted me to drive into the back of the car in front of me so he could make a free left turn. He didn't like my wave :finger: in responce to his repeated tooting of his horn, so followed me through the lights when they changed. I was probably very lucky that when he pulled over behind me, he saw the crazy  chick jumping out of her car, and marching toward him, he must have thought it would be a good idea to drive away very quickly.
I vote Deck the Prat.

I might suggest don't get in these situations. Let him go. Take his number and report it to the cops, if he was on home D and the cops get a complaint its their job to follow it up.
If it turns nasty and you are concerned for your safety and you can't get away. Don't get into a fist fight you will only hurt yourself, just do what ever it takes to take him out in such a way he is disabled. A helmut in the hand makes a great weapon. Then call the cops.
A few years ago I was back ended at the Buckle-Tory st lights in Wellington. The plonker who hit me jumped out of his car and came at me at a million miles an hour all full of fists and fuck, I was still trapped under the bike at the time. With help I got out from under the bike and the red haze was just settling in. I just retained enough composure to push 111 on my cell phone at which stage the plonker jumped back in his car and fucked off. Well I had a funny real time conversation with the police emergency center and a short while later they came back with something like 'we have got him he is a disqualified driver and we are charging him careless causing and a whole lot of other things as well'.

And you had to Necro this ol' thread to get that outta your system eh?
I didn't think it was that mad of a dredge... BUT realised we are 2010 now......
For me when I'm out on the bike, I don't go playing silly games with the silly cage drivers..... idiots like that will get their heads smacked in soon enough, and as a rider you don't even have to break a sweet.
A quick twist of the wrist usually sorts them out, and makes them feel real small.
The other day coming into Sanson i caught up to as cue of cars that were doing about 85 ( standard speed for the traffic of late).
There was a while lancer wagon, or equivalent japanese make of cage on the end of the cue.
So I simply went around him at 100 while i was on trailing throttle. Heaps of room, and no traffic on the passing lane coming the other way......
Anyhow, as we all rounded the bend he dropped it back to 3rd, and floored it to overtake me and the car in front of me.... coming into a 50 zone by this point.
Talk about feeling small... Him i mean, I just shrugged my shoulders and thought, "Your Petrol" (not to mention the oil that was being blown in my face).
Now a younger me may have thought "I have to get him back as soon as we get out of town" Thing is why?
As i say, don't play their silly games. Simply not worth it.
If you get somebody following close, remember you have better than 250hp per tonne on most bikes over 250 (and even some 250's), and a darn sight more maneuverable. just get out of their way, and leave them alone.

With the risk of sounding sexist - as a female that is a pretty silly idea. Unless you've received martial training or have the significant upperhand size-wise your odds are crap.
Do a runner instead, its the safer bet. (in this case that would mean don't stop in the first place)

I have been known to fight my way out of a paper bag a number of times....right hook is quite lethal.
I wouldn't want to be in this situation, and would avoid it as much as possible... but if I happened to be ...I'd get in first...hard and fast. And, no matter how big the man....a knee jerk to the crutch still hurts like fuck.

On the other hand, if you miss or he's a tough cookie you'll just piss him off - and then the gloves come off. I know of a guy who got a kick to the nuts, went absolutely haywire and really fucked over the guy who'd done it. Once the deed had been done he puked from the pain - do not underestimate what adrenaline can do in this regard.

#1 - Always go home and punch a punching bag to releive the stress you built up in that near fight situation.
#2 If you have a deadly right hook punch like mine get a real boxing bag not a chinese one or else you will rip it in half with one hit, see pics. :devil2::devil2::devil2:

Im pissed off so if anyone pushes my buttons.......a guy in a black holden commodore (police look a like) started coming right up behind me I told him to get back so he came even closer, I changed lanes he changes into that lane. I start pulling certain hand gestures he pulls it back with both hands so I made a detour to the docks carpark and he follows. I get to a stop, hop off my bike " you ****** *** the **** are you doing you wanna dance lets dance " we "dance", a lady hops out of her merc tries to stop us "dancing". I leave with a satisfied smile, justice served. Thats my rant for the day.

My more serious answer to "What would I do"?
Confrontations can escalate and when they do there is no knowing the end game - it dosnt take much for something to end really badly - like someone hitting their head on the curb, or some punk ass pulling a knife.
General rule - avoid the confrontation if at all possible. If its impossible - go hard and dont stop - fight as if your life was on the line - because it may be.

I'd hold a referendum on whether the hand gestures were considered to be offensive enough for a shock and awe assault. Then I'd invite the other party to make their submissions on the matter. Once that was done I'd get out a little blanket and have a mini picnic on the side of the road, inviting the other party over for a spot of earl gray tea....with their cup being laced with arsenic. Quite simple really.

Theoretically speaking, I know it's always best and recommended to try and defuse the situation but after being almost run over a car I KNOW I wouldn't be calm enough to do the right thing.
I would just take advantage of the fact that I have "armour" :D and put him down quickly with one punch. I've learned long time ago not to hit at the head - too dangerous. Punch/kick in the stomach which will put him down. Once down I would have a chance to breathe and calm myself down. Call 111 and keep him down until police arrive. Waiting for cops and claiming self defence would be much safer than leaving. It can backfire.
If he ends up getting up and starting again, a kick properly administered can easily break a knee/leg and keep him on the ground without endangering his life.

Turned out ok in this case, but you have to be careful out there.
From experience there is a lot of crazy bad people out there carrying all kinds of things round in their cars.
Is your life worth it?
Let them go back to the cess pond they come from and ignore them.

OT - but I have to respond. Viva Newcastle.
Hunter Street never recovered from the earthquake. The commerce moved to Charlestown and Normie gave up cruising and went surfing. The Patches moved to Maitland and up the Hunter Valley.
Still a good Pie Cart on Hunter Street, but the Bands are all in Beaumont Street now too.
This is the sound of the Newy I called home.

I'll agree with Mr McJim here..

Like Frosty told me, every time you beat or kick some cagers head in - think of the chain effect or the 'six degree's of separation' they call it. This cager twists the story to get sympathy from his/her partner and family, they spread it to their friends, they're friends may be of all walks of life like Nick Smith! So next time you are out on your bike you could be riding near a person who heard about these incidents and labels you the same as the offender and they might just do something.....

Chain effect and 6 deg of seperation are completley different things.
Still the point you make is valid.
Truth of the matter is tho - I doubt many on here have ever had a physical confrontation in their life - little less kicking someones head in.

First off I don't ever recomend going into a fight- period. Trouble is theres always someone meaner and nastier.Notice i didn't say bigger.
if you are in a situation where there is no getting out and fighting really is the only option Then use your palms not your fists. It hurts you less and is more effective, Knuckles break/get damaged suprisingly easilly. Avoid the mouth because saliva carries some bloody nasty germs that get into busted knuckles.
Get in close and hit like you mean it. dont namby pamby around HIT the bugger.
Again this is after all other options are exhausted.
To answer the OP's question what would I have done. If on a grunty enough bike most likely waited till he was outa the car and fucked off outa there. If he seemed to be following then head for the cop shop.
I do feel I have to ask of the 120 odd of you that said you'd drop/deck the guy how many of you have actually been in that situation and had to use violence?? Cos if you haven't I'd suggest you answer Other. You don't know what you will do untill in the situation where its fight or flight.

Next part is up to you ...
smash his fuckin teeth through the back of his skull, fuck his mother, slap his father, and torch his car. but im an angry person!
