Bugger. Thought if I mentioned it (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showpost.php?p=1744650&postcount=162) very casually in the weekend rides thread it might not get noticed. :)

Seriously though, anyone's welcome. On checking, I'm actually heading to Hastings initially, rather than Napier. Won't be going particularly fast, I'm hoping to get to Hastings about 11:30 to 12ish, so I'd be looking for interested parties to gather at Ashhurst Mobil around 9am.

BTW I will be going regardless of the weather. :)

I'm looking for an excuse to visit my brother at Hastings. Boring bugger rides a V rod, summer only. A nice quiet cruise could be good.

Yeah, looking forward to it. One handy thing with Sunday, we'll already be into Daylight Saving, so have a bit more daylight.

Yes, very. Was a bit blustery today, but the Ultra is remarkably stable in a breeze, very pleasant to ride in any weather so far.

If the weather looks good tomorrow I'll probably cruise up with you have lunch with the brother at Hastings then head back. I'm in no rush after a fast and expensive run last week. I will know by 8.00am (daylight saving) and will post and text to check.:innocent:

It'll be good to catch up with you guys.

Rain radar is looking good for now.

Pleasent ride to Hastings. Turns out Horse and KiwiKat are cousins (cue bango music)

I left them both in Hastings and popped in to see mum and dad.

Very pleasent solo ride home. Discovered another nice sealed backroad within a stones throw of the centre of the universe as we know it. Ended up coming out at the Tui brewery. Be good for a Friday night sojourn. Loops back onto the Woodville/Pahiatua road that Gary took us on some time back(Skippys last big run iirc). Need to take carefull note of the "Stock" cones otherwise you'll end up in deep shit (literally and figuratively).

Needless to say Gerble performed with the precision of an old Swiss time piece, well Ganddads old wall clock anyway...............

Yeah nice day to be out and about. Had a quick potter over the saddle and back over the track meself. Thought I would've seen more bikes out and about - they must all be at Manfield. Nice day for it but I'd rather be riding...

Agreed. A shit load of bikes where parked outside the Ashhurst pub by the Mobil. The safety nazis would have been up in arms about what some riders were wearing.

Saw more push bike riders on the roads I did today than m/cs.

Think I may have seen Sarah on her Trumpy heading out over the Fitzherbet bridge?

Definately a nice run up to Hastings on SH50. Horse's surround sound armchair led at a good pace (needs a real exhaust). Interesting to follow as it glides down the road. Corners well.

I dropped some air out of the Kat's tyres part way. Now running below specs. But much better. Not slipping at back end as much but still jarring at front end (very hard) so will slowly start tweaking down a bit. (Tyres are crap)

Met my bro at Hastings, he brought an Austin A10 and we went out to an awesome cafe at Te Awanga. A great stop for a future ride. Took the camera... but forgot to take picks.

Followed a pile of Harleys back until they started line passing, so I let them go. Were they friendly? No ticket colectors so a quick cheap run. Thanks Horse.

Manfeild was indeed a great place to be. Very good racing despite a lot of bins.

Had a magic run through Vinegar Hill, followed by a great squirt over the saddle.

AND, got to see the Buell :niceone:

Me and Monamie went for a look at Manfield and then to the herb garden ( would be good for coffee on a weekend group ride, not open for Friday night rides dag nab it ) and then over the saddle ( cue cyclists ) and back through the gorge ( managed a fluky no traffic run through there )
Sweet to get out on the road again and had to keep checking the bandit was running with that buell trumpeting at me the whole time  oh well I spose I'll have to get a noisy exhaust just so I know it's running :)
Come on Summer :sunny:

Tyres went down a bit more today. Bonez does do a lot of that looking on but that little bike honks.

Thanks for the lead on Sunday, you've obviously travelled Highway 50 a bit. I've only been on it once before. Next time I might stop somewhere, if there is somewhere.

I'd be interested to hear how the whole loop went.

Had plenty of practice as a grumpy sargent at the looking on thing :)
I'd buy another GB in an instant-gutless, nylon tyres, cheap suspension. What more could a motorcyclist ask for?
