Well the usual story dean picks me up at sparrows fart and we are on the road. On the way up we were hoping that we would get the traditional fielding way and have a huge ring of sun shine over the track..

The rain came just before f1 qualifying so threw the wets on and got ready to go. Rain stops ground starts to dry SHIT. Rain starts again great lets go.

Get out on the damp track start getting in to it then what do you know, dry line wets getting very, very hot the old girl starts to slide. Coming on to the front straight through the kink and the rear let go, BIG time and that was it put my hand up and pulled in.

Managed to get 29th on the grid with a very slow 1.21 i think. Thought i went faster oh well.

After about an hour an a bit i decided that surly it wont rain again so back on with the slicks. Get the front wheel in and tyre warmers on and RAIN F@#K F#$K F^@K.

RACE 1 track is dry. start lights come on and a few people jumped it then stoped then we are all off just as i hook second hear an almighty crash and get hit with something in the chest and see a yellow cbr rolling along the track with nobody on it. Look back and see a pile of bodys and bikes, Not cool. Hope all involved heal up and get well soon.

Restart and yeah went all right doing 1.16s the whole race so that was good. bike felt good the whole time so very happy with the way it started out.

Race 2, 20 laps
Got a good start and went full tit for as long as i could but i was starting to make a couple of little mistakes then on the second to last lap I see big gay ed laying on the ground next to his bike. On the last lap coming in to Higgins i look to the inside only to see dirty old dodgy matt laying next to his bike. Far out i said to my self and set about finishing the race. I ended up 15 so was very happy but ROOTED. So much so i pulled up to the garage and just fell against the wall and waited for drew to come help. Had a wee sit down.

Race 3. Dodgy's bike was fixed and we were ready for battle and what a race it was set to be. Got a good start and we are off in to turn one and every body was bunched up for a lap and a bit. Dodgy and my self were having a great tussle coming in to splash i went down 2 gears as per normal how ever i only went up 1 through the right hander so that was me down to 1st gear at a fairly fast speed and ran real wide. Matt pulled a gap that I could not close. Caught up on an R6 then saw the white flag thought better get a move on. I was catching him the whole time on to the back straight i knew i was faster through the sweeper than he was. I hit that turn harder than i ever have. My peg was on the ground had my knee tucked up and that was touching down then the drag race to the flag I was off the inside of the track through the kink not looking were i was going just looking at the yamy.

He beat me by .041 of a second. In that lap though i got a new PB of 1.15.629 so was really happy.

Massive thanks to, The Station sports cafe and bar for hooking me up a bed for the night, Bridgestone NZ, Firestone Upper Hutt, My awesome girl Tarn() Deano for the ride and just being a good bugger in general, Weaver(Allan) big ups to you mate you made the weekend easy man thanks heaps, Drew for encouragement, Rob Taylor for the Cuddles and keeping me motivated ment heaps all of you.

Yeah not much though. New breaks as that is were i was getting let down. Discs and pads are rooted. New discs on the way from the states as you can get 2 discs landed for the price of 1 here. We get shafted on parts prices in NZ. there maybe a 14 in it, Well thats what im going for next round any way.

Oh well chuck me the keys for round 6 then.

I've just gone out to the shed and asked the ol' girl if she'd like a quicker rider....she perked up noticeably........until I used the "Mair" word.

Unfortunately the legend of the Brother's Mair has preceded you and she'd heard what Mairs do to bikes. As a result she has had to undergo treatment at a private 'Cycle Therapy clinic where she will remain until Round 6, at which point I aim to gradually reintroduce her to competition and soothe her frazzled nerves with some relaxed cruising in a supportive environment.......
