Greymouth Street Race is on in a few weeks. I'm going to defend my Bucket title which has been dominated by the Cotton Bro's and some unkown Bowell dude.......Also entered the Posty in Post Classic and F3 so it going to be a busy day.

Who else is going from here?

I'm trying to make up my mind. This would be my first street race and I'm very keen. Entries closes on Saturday 11th I think.

Would it be realistic to book the 10pm return ferry on Sunday, or is the time too tight to make it up to Picton after the race?

Depending on what time your last race is I think you'd be pushing it, you'll probably take somewhere between 4-5 hours to Picton from Greymouth

Check how long it takes on the way down and work it out from there, you're better off taking your time and crossing Monday

My last street race was on a TM125 fitted with road tyres around the streets of Hamilton in the early 70's (hmm... I guess that would have been a motard ? )

Pitting together sounds OK to me.

Whats the story... so you have to do 3 closed circuit races before you are allowed to race on a street circuit?
Is it 3 races or 3 meetings.

Enlighten me.

Good luck to all those competing.

3 meetings as far as I am aware. Pretty sure they go off your race licence/log book, which only lists rounds entered, not races run.

I had only done 3 VMCC rounds before Wanganui and no questions were asked.

3 meetings me thinks...I got one stamp in my book from the last Hava go day,
wasnt a race as such, just the clubbies in one class .Will have another in there after this weekend....:woohoo:
I think its got more to do with actually being on a "closed circuit"...so 3 days at closed circuit meetings (racedays) will get you qualified to do street races.
Quite the step up I think from the track, bumpy, manhole covers, gutters,no or very little run off,& all that seperates you from the crowd is the wire netting .
Be intense I reckon.

plenty of room in classic pre63, buckets and formula 1 if anyone is interested in a late entry. the program went to print today so if ya dont mind the extra cash for the late entry and no name in the program then ya most welcome.

Any of you bucket guys serious for the westland kart club day? you can pre enter or enter on the day (costs a bit more).
