Not many of you know but I haven't been riding at all for around the last 6 months - where we previously lived Betty got beaten up a couple of times and then I moved her round to my Aunty's place and decided to put the Rego on hold (very reluctantly).
Today though, I rode her to our new whare where she will be able to live in her own car port and be treated with TLC. In fact I can even park her in the backyard!! She is caked in heavy dust and dirt and needs a really good clean!
She is such a great little bike, after a few dozen goes at starting her she spluttered into life and didn't miss a beat (apart from when she stopped cos I'd turned the fuel cock to off - ooopss!!!)! I pumped the tyres up and rode her sedately out home. Soon I'll be able to tootle along to the Wednesday nights rides and get my riding confidence back up again. Yay! Yay! Yay!

Awesome Cathy! You still got that parts bike? If not, well, you know where New Zealand's largest stash of 250RS bits is and how to get hold of me
I've since acquired yet another parts bike -- how's that kickstart lever on yours going? I have a left over one now.

Hah hah! I've actually acquired a whole extra CB of my own as well (in hindsight I think the seller ripped me off) so I have a spare kick start and other bits and bobs too. We could make a MEGA-MUTANT-CB out of all the pieces we both have!

Good stuff :D I am indeed doing just that -- trying to work out how to stuff an XT350 piston into mine.
Happy riding, hopefully it stays upright now that it's not parked on the street any more.

Glad to hear the decals kept her in running condition all this time.
Oh, and that you have a new kick lever...I lost sleep over not being able to help there.
Disclaimer: sarcasm unintended. Post for humour's sake. Glad that you are back and two-wheeled again.

Weeeeeel I haven't put the lovely decals on yet cos I wanted to make sure the tank wasn't gonna get beaten up anymore! I think it's safe to do it now. :woohoo:

Further update - Betty is now completely road legal and I've even tootled over the Rimutakas with a mate of mine (he was on his humungus Vmax) and I commuted to work yesterday (and last Monday).
I'm slowly getting my confidence back and was able to lane split last night through all the hold-ups on the Hutt MW - I must say the drivers are quite considerate and tend to move over a little.
I also got a big wave from a cyclist on the way home yesterday and it turned out to be Bung Bung!
