Just saw you on penrose road... i am impressed you had a nice riding jacket, gloves and a helmet, top work....

apart from the stubbies and jandals.

what a fucking MORON

and then you tried to show off by nutting it up the road, and missed 2nd gear.

Rant over.

They should have a 'dumbarse twat' levy, some sort of means tested thingy...so us sensible folks don't have to support the dumbarses.

 forgot....I'm in NZ, under a Labour dictatorship so that sort of thing (supporting the lowest common denominator) is de rigeur.....

LOL !! like something out of the 70's, reminds me of my dad's riding stories.
the other day I saw a a dude in leathers and stubbies but even he had boat shoes on, pulling into the Thorndon new world carpark on a huge Harley with some chick on the back.
It just looked odd, all that black leather/paint and chrome and then those lily white legs. Fortunately at the time I was passenger in a cage so at least target fixation wasn't an issue :-p

All the gear in the world won't make a difference if you ride like a complete twat.

I popped down to the supermarket at lunchtime in shorts and a t-shirt and it was lovely.

I have private medical insurance, and ride carefully, who are you to tell anyone that they are a 'fuckwit'?

Nagash

Hell he's got the jacket, gloves and helmet. Get over yourself.

A pair of jeans and shoes isn't going to make a hell of alot of difference to shorts and jandals when kissing the tarmac and that's considered acceptable riding gear. Shoes fly off very quickly same goes for jeans ripping.

(I assume we're bitching about if he has a decent bin, because if it's a slow speed jobbie I doubt he'll have to go to A&E for it.. I never did..)

---

And on a side note, you mentioned you wear Alpinestar SP-2's... why did you waste your money? A Lack of a wrist strap makes them very easy to pull off with your hands alone, let alone the force of sliding along the road. The brand logo isn't gonna make fuck all difference i'm afraid..

Do you know of any private accident and emergency clinics?

Is you Medical Insurance going to pay you income?

Can you guarantee that when you're "riding carefully" there won't be any drunk/crack addled or plain stupid drivers on the road?

Who are we to tell you you're a fuckwit?

What about those of us who have ridden in T shirt, shorts, jandals and what ever and haven't fallen off, you've paid fuck all for us

I'm willing to bet you've paid a fuck sight more for squids on sports bikes wearing full gear having single bike accidents but I don't see you whinging about them

In fact there's a awful lot of whiny little fuckers on here who like to wank on and bleat about guys in less than optimal safety gear and the "potential" effect it will have on ACC and how much they're paying but I don't see those same people giving those who have "actually crashed" any shit about it

Perhaps you ought to rant about those motercycle riders that ARE NOT liable for any ACC levies in their registration... because they dont pay any (i.e. off road bikes...two and four wheel types) Perhaps when they pay their share of the levies, we may end up paying less...(fine chance of that EH !!!)

Most medical / health insurance will top up ACC payments to usual income, some pay as well as... what will your insurance pay...???

You never heard of PRIVATE HOSPITALS...???

Shit you must get tired jumping to all those conclusions...

An interesting argument, though - I can't slag off one fuckwit, 'cause I've haven't personally had a go at all fuckwits (tricky, but gimme time).

Firstly, I was talking to Mr. Rationalisation over there - I have private health insurance so I can do what the hell I want guy.

You don't see me whinging about single accident squids? Fuck, gimme a chance I'll whinge about those (especially just after paying my rego).

And as for fuckwits who've actually crashed, point one out - I'll give him full benefit of my spleen.

Jeez, all the big brains are out tonight.

Yes, I have heard of private hospitals (although personally, I think that spelling it in caps is kinda hissy-fit gay). Perhaps you could re-read my post (slowly this time - try wiping the spittle of your monitor first), I said private accident & emergency clinics.

Next up - Health insurance don't pay income (and the one you're thinking of, Disability Income cover usually doesn't top up ACC benefits).

As for guarantees, there are many, and one of those is that squids will crash and our ACC rego component will increase.

So your score is 0/3 - congratulations.

I gave no instructions.

Are you related to him?

Ps, If you think about it (and there's no evidence so far that yer a big thinker), telling me to stop telling people what to do, is you telling me what to do.

Round here, St John do an exellent job of getting you to hospital, if needed a chopper gets you to Dunedin within an hour. No need for private A&E here...

Better start looking for decent insurance then... Mine is, plenty of cover in all those areas.... You get what you pay for.

Some people get lucky... even the dumb and stupid twats... one of those squids may, or may not prang, or the careful rider may get taken out by a squid cage driver, or not. Can't pick where or when...no matter how hard we try.

The people who pay are ALL tax paying people, that have/are paying tax in New Zealand. If ACC payment of medical costs and expenses, plus ACC benifits paid to individuals (2/3's of wage) the ACC levies in rego etc, would not cover it.

I do dumb things, even at work, in an attempt to do it the quick way. Not always with complete success, and not always without pain... Payouts may seem good, but usually involve lots of PAIN... or loss of body parts. NOT my ideal way of getting cash...

I don't mind paying ACC levies provided the footage is duly uploaded to YouTube for our collective viewing pleasure, better value than SkyTV.

The ACC levy you pay in your MV Rego is directly related to Motorcycle claims.

No-ones breaking any laws. Every time you get on a bike your taking a risk, gear or not, it's just the consequences are bigger.

If you're really concerned about people wasting your precious tax dollars, there's far bigger targets.

As does, with equal likelihood , every wanker who falls off a bike *with* magic gear.

The way to avoid increasing ACC levies is NOT TO FALL OFF.

Then it doesn't matter what you are wearing. Simple eh ?

And the wya not to fall off?

Ride a sensible bike, sensibly. Yes, that does mean no wheelies, no 200kph round blind corners.
