Well, the whole family and myself are moving to Aus within the next 3 weeks! Just wanted to say thanks to all you KB'ers for all the help, advice, support, friendships, laughs and most of all... Memories! I know my biking experience would of been much more secluded and quite if it hadn't of been for you lot  I've met so many great people over the past couple of years and have gone to so many events that I wouldn't of known about if it wasn't for KB that I really can't say thank you enough... So a hug will have to do... If you don't like hugs, then tough and HTFU cause you're gettin one! :D

I'm sure we'll be on KB every now and then just to keep up to date with all the Kiwi's.

We'll still be riding... Aero_165 and myself will both be getting bikes once we move over there and hopefully my dad might be able to get one too  so if any of you lot know any good riding roads in Victoria, please pass on the knowledge!

Oh... and... Bring on the MotoGP at Phillip Island next year :wari: :chase: WOOHOO!

You'll be happy. Australia is flat. The racetracks are hilly though.

Best of luck with the move and I hope it's all you anticipate.

The roads seem boring and the speed limits seem rigidly enforced but the locals probably know where to go...

Browsing Peter Steven's motorbike shop in Melbourne is amazing compared to the bike shops I usually see.

Also, why wait for the MotoGP? There's the World Superbikes early in the season. Check out the "Afterburner". You can hire a bike and leathers and ride around the track after the event. $300 per session? I was told buy two sessions, the first might be a bit ummm tense(?) with all the learning. The second is for fun... I'm told they have leathers in all sizes, even ones to fit me.

Then again, the California Superbike School hold classes at Phillip Island throughout the year apparently.

If none of that appeals you could always fork out $20.00 to watch the penguin parade.

Bon voyage, and here's to your trip

Good luck Jaz and family. My Dad's siblings live out by Hanging Rock and from what I saw when there a couple of years ago there are some nice roads out that way. No one to disturb you either as its in the middle of nowhere.

Haven't been to Peter Stevenson's.. Where abouts is that do you know? I did call into as many stores as I could and was amazed at the amount of womens gear! Seems much cheaper and readily available :2thumbsup
Never thought about WSBK and will definitly look into the "afterburner"... Sweeeeet!
Penguin Parade?... Do I want to ask?....

Haha, yup, looking very seriously at getting a motard. But also tossing up between that, a Cagiva Raptor or a Ducati Monster.

Awesome, we've just got back on Tuesday! There seems to be a lot of work open there at the moment eh ^_^ Are you looking at moving over?
With the 5 of us going, it's more like what aren't we in lol! We're all pretty open to most jobs that come our way and have a wide skill range. We're mostly just looking at all the different options that are there at the moment and will see what seems to be the best.
I've already had a part time offer in a bike store, which is awesome and then from there I'm probably going to look into a full time sales/retail position. Whether it's in a bike, gym, jewelery store or something I'm interested in I'm not really fussed.
Interesting times ahead, that's for sure

Thanks for all the help and being a touch down point for a lone pootler out that ways! I guess its time for more adventures across the ditch and some new challenges ahead!

On ya! Hope the trip all goes well and you settle into your stride quickly there - guess it even gives me an excuse one day when I'm riding around there to drop in!

Penguin Parade?... Do I want to ask?....

I think there are several branches but the downtown one is near the Victoria markets so that may mean Victoria Street? There are several bikeshops in the area including very upmarket Victory and Ducati boutiques...

Phillip Island's other claim to fame is the large penguin colony there and people pay to watch the penguins come ashore at night apparently.

Oh cool thanks, I shall have to have a little looksie when I finally make it into the city... If Auckland traffic scares me, that will be interesting to say the least! Although Aussie drivers seem to be a bit more clued up to what they are doing.

Pay to watch penguins waddle around? I like them... But not that much! I'll stick to paying to watch the bikes on Phillip Island :headbang:
