Hey people, thought I'd put up info for the boxing day races at the Cemetery Circuit.

Main website: http://www.cemeterycircuit.co.nz/

Buy tickets ($20 instead of $30 at the gate): http://www.cemeterycircuit.co.nz/tickets.html
NOTE: PRICE IS NOW $25. CHEAP SALES HAVE PASSED. LAST DAY FOR ONLINE SALES IS DEC 17TH

PDF of track and entrances: http://www.cemeterycircuit.co.nz/pdf/track_map08.pdf

Wises map: http://www.wises.co.nz/l/Manawatu-Wanganui/Wanganui+City+Centre/Wilson+Street/#c/2s46b/6k1yz/0/

As per usual they're a bit weak on spectator information so if you've got start times and/or programme information that'd be handy.

Mods can we stickyify?

Good stuff....................I've emailed Leighton to get some more info about the Tri Series 20th Manfeild round too.

Have started a thread in Site Stuff suggesting we need a sub category beside Track Days in Meetings/Events so people can find this sort of info out without searching through racing threads.
Alot of riders don't look in here but still want to know about race meetings.

As it didn't effect me I shouldn't have to take it up with MNZ. I know a guy who was affected who did take it up with MNZ though. Both PP and a guy named stuart I think were sent complaints. Zero response. Zero. Good to see Mnz take their members concerns seriously. I hope the sidecr asscociation isn't so flipant.

And I do understand a new guy has the rains for Cemetary Circuit this year. Good luck to him. As long as he's got none of the meatheads making decisions that were last year it should be a great event.

Keep my 20 in the pocket this year and see how it goes.

An excellent reply, Believe me, NZSRA takes competitor concerns very seriously.
I am dissapointed to hear that MNZ did not address the concerns of competitors, it was my understanding that they are obliged to do so.
Safe, Fun & Fair????? not sure about that at the mo.

I presume y'all speak of the issues at last year's race regarding qualifying positions?

If MNZ have never addressed it in any form, that's very disappointing.

What a useless bunch they seem to be.

The basis that I have no information about MNZ doing anything other than ignoring it.

If anyone knows of any shit that went down, feel free to tell me! I'd be interested.

The fact that the only response I got to my concerns was "Thankyou for your letter, we've forwarded it to the appropriate person and will be in touch shortly". Subsequent requests for info went unanswered.

It's 20 days short of a year since my letter and I'm still waiting for an update as to where we're at with it Paul?

Anyway, this isn't the thread to discuss issues with the organizers of past events.

Frankly, MNZ can suck my cock for all I care. Glad I don't have to have a single thing to do with the queer cunts anymore.

Good luck to Leighton and the team running this years event, I sincerely hope it goes well.

That's a shame on several levels.
1. You will miss some great racing
2. With new organisers you are punishing "innocent" parties (racers and the new organisers)
3. The event suffers as a whole because of people no longer involved

Actions speak louder than words and the fact that new management is involved should speak volumes.

I've actually spoken to the guy and he is obviously a genuine motorcycling enthusiast rather than just a "promotor" who doesn't care what sort of event they are "organising". He seemed genuinely excited about the event and was happy to accomodate a late entry rather than just going by the book and telling me to bugger off. Getting together twith Scrivy and co to organise the Xmas Tri-Series indicates he's looking at creating something bigger and better and can only bode well for the future.

From a spectator point of view I reckon the racing will be better than ever with some fast new faces on the scene and a return to separate F1 and F2 races. Not to mention there will be at least three manufacturers with serious chances of taking the title: Shirriffs on the mighty 'Blade (me? biased?), Stroudy and Shaun on Suzuki's, and last years suprise, Gareth Jones back on the Yamaha. And the Britten....I wouldn't care what event it was, I'd fork out just to see that thing turning a wheel again.

Staying away as a protest against past screw ups is punishing the innocent rather than the guilty. Come along and give the new guys a chance, they seem to be petro-sexuals like us rather than someone just going through the motions.

Good points slowpoke.

Yes Leighton is a good bastard. But his only downfall is that he likes the long bikes........ oh, and the fact that he wants his chair to smack my ass around Wangas!! With Stacey on it, it probably will too!!
Oh well, there's always the post classic BMW.......

The SLIDEchair!! Anyone that misses out going to Wanganui this year wont get to see the Scriv-nut pushing the old beemer well past its operating envelope, tyre shreiking backing it into corners with the sidewheel up, massive understeer smoking drifts etc etc etc.
Damn i wish i could watch him, but alas, i need to hang off the side of the thing, so wont get to enjoy the action.
Id pay $50 just to see that.

Hey Guys & Girls,
The Wangas event is going to be bigger than Ben Hur.
You are going to see one of the best Road Race Spectaculars that NZ has seen in a while and there has been some awesome racing for the spectator over the last few years to compete with.
The club this year are going back to the people, and giving you guys what you want and deserve.
Get ya backsides trackside and dont hesitate to come up and meet and greet the competitors in the pits and say hello.
After all we aint there if you guys aren't there!
